After scoring 30pts playing off 15, with having 3 "blob" within the first four holes, I would recommend that you not only buy the course guide, but you take note off it. I found this course to be one which releid on thinking your way around, rather than get the "big dog" out and let rip. The course itself was in execellent condition with the only downside being the bunkers. Having had to play out of several of them I found them to be in poor condition. Very little sand in most of them, disappointing compared to the rest of the course. The green provided a good test with not one flat green in sight.
I played in a Society which was for 18 holes and a meal afterwards all for £27. The staff were all very welcoming, always helpful, and the members that were there didn't seem to mind us being there.

Disappointed in the course layout. The holes around the clubhouse look interesting, but as you move further into the course it has more the feel of a course built in series of farmer's fields with gaps cut in hedges. Overall course maintenance is good. Quite expensive for what it is, particularly as they only accept 241 vouchers on a day ticket price. Good clubhouse and amazingly well stocked pro shop crammed into a small area. Not in a rush to play it again.

Played here midweek June 06 (£18 using a county card).
Just another 'newish' parkland course which doesn't have enough about it to separate it from the pack.
Mostly, i found the course uninteresting .There were too many fiddly positional holes where you're hitting tee / approach shots through gaps , over ditches or to raised upturned saucer greens.(you could probably go round just using a 3 wood). On the short par 4 16th ,even after hitting a high wedge approach that just cleared the big bunker guarding the front of the green & that landed on the front of the green the ball shot into the hedge over the back thus making it impossible to hold. The only option was to deliberately aim to miss the green pin high left.
I didn't like the overall feel of the course or the way it flowed .Other drawbacks were the constant droan of the nearby M3 , not being able to find any water fountains on a hot day & that i found it a tiring course to play.
Overall the maintenance of the course was good & the pro shop friendly but i wouldn't play here again .

Good course - fair and quite rewarding - par 3's werelong but par 5's were not. Nice sunny day when I played and although it took a long time to go round due to slowness of play it was very enjoyable. Used my 2 fore 1 voucher but they charged all day rate which was a waste of 2:1 as normal rates were not much higher - rubbish.

Played here with society on 20th April 04. This was following a very wet few days, and the course in general had stood up well to the weather. Usual problems in bunkers, which had compacted with water.
Thirty one members played with a handicap range of 5 through 28, and all felt that the course was good value for money, the greens had subtle borrows, and, in some cases, fiendish pin positions! The clubhouse and staff were very pleasant, even staying open to allow us to watch the Chelsea Monaco game.
The first two holes are quite challenging, with water in play on both, and OOB on the left. From ten on the course becomes a little easier, and a good score can be put together if thought is applied to each shot. The 12th is a dog-leg (broken leg!) right OOB on the right, trouble on the left, with an uphill approach to a domed green. Good hole. From here on in, the course demands careful consideration of distances both on the drive, and with the approach shots, as ditches wind their way across all the fairways, and alongside the par three 14th.
A good day out which was won with 38 points, unlike some courses which we have visited, where the scores have been in the forties.

I have just played the Windlesham course along with a freind and neither of us would reccommend this course .My friend had booked a society do on a couple of members reccomendations and thought it would be a good idea to try the course out .The first problem was that although it was 4pm raining ,dull and the course was empty the pro still wanted a full £25.00 fee even after we explained the circumstances and that the society rate was £21.00. Finally we got it down to £18.00 and set off into the countryside on a course that wends its way throught mature trees .
The first surprize was the poor state of the greens which had a fair number of brown patchs on them and were in general of variable quailty .
Next surprize came on the 3rd when my 6 iron plugged!just short of the green and this after just a couple of huors of rain, indicating that this course is not going to drain well .
Indeed in general the course is in poor condition with a lot of bear lies and bunkers that you simply chip out off without taking sand .
In conclusion whilst the course is not bad and indeed could be good, players would be better off going somewhere similar which has better course's and is cheaper .
As for the course itself its long but fairly wide and on first time out after 12 holes [which is as far as we got]I finnshed well under my handicap so its not even that difficult .
3/10
