I played this course with with 3 other high handicappers on Saturday and found it to be an excellent challenge.
Speaking as an ex greenkeeper I thought the course was extemely well presented and the staff very helpful and friendly.
I can also recommend the bacon and mushroom panini!

Extremely disappointed. Played off 18 temporary greens in the middle of the summer - yet didnt even inform the group upon booking. To make it worse the Temp greens were not even cut! The course has potential, but is in dire need of some attention.
Not in a rush to go back to Dummer, many far better course within 20 miles.

Played this really good course for the first time last week as a four ball. We were alls amazed at how well the course was presented and the greens were excellent. The lakes and water hazards were particularly interesting and challenging. We were was delighted to find the half way house open selling, amoungst other things, hot drinks and homemade, giant sausage rolls. Superb views and lots of interest we all want to come back again. Look out for their web offers.
You could not find more helpful or freindly staff and the atmosphere within the clubhouse is second to non. We had a really good meal and very importantly the beer spot on.
Put Dummer on your must play list.

Have played this Peter Allis designed course on a few occasions using discount vouchers. Fairly bland, open parkland course, an OK round of golf, but nothing special. The 18th is probably the best hole on the course; a touch late in the round! Navigation around the course can be a bit tricky as they had changed the order of the holes between two of the times we played it.

My first impression after playing the first few holes was actually quite positive. The course was in great condition (allowing for the lack of rain we've had) and from what I had seen of the course it looked like a great place to play.
However, by the time we were halfway through the back 9 it seemed like we were just playing the same holes again. Lot's of par 4's which were a drive and an iron to the green. Okay, so I didn't actually hit the green every time, but the only thing changing about each hole was the iron I used for the approach shot.
Apart from the par 3's and the 18th (where I finally got to play a wood from the fairway), I didn't really see enough variety about the course.
It is in good condition and I would like to go back there again, but I don't think it's a place I'll be looking to play too often.
Oh, and I haven't marked the general facilities as I didn't really use them. If a 0 is shown, then it's not because I was unhappy with them. The clubhouse looked very inviting from what I saw of it.

Played here midweek January 06 (£ 12.50 each using the Daily Telegraph Open Fairways card ).
An enjoyable course .Another good Peter Alliss creation with great thought in the design .Lots of mounding along the holes & around the greens as well as pot & sleepered bunkers give the course a links feel .The free draining fairways & rough also look & feel linksy to play off.
It's fairly open here & sets up well for driving & there are very few weak holes on this very good layout.
Drawbacks were that the course is close to the M3
so you get the noise ,the greens were a bit diseased ( but still ran well) & being stuck behind a members 4 ball for most of the front 9 until WE asked to come through on 10.
For £12.50 with the card this is a real bargain.
