Lee Valley Leisure Golf Course Player Reports

This course has been a great place to come over the years. Its like an old friend.I can't think of a time when it has been in a better condition than it is now.The greens are in really good condition and the fairways are good too.Although this course is shortish, don't think its easy. Some of the fairways are narrow(only a few) and the lake can swallow a ball so its a good test from the tee. Some of the greens are tricky also. Always friendly in the shop, its not a lavish clubhouse because there isn't one,but there is a cafe and decent toilets. We recommend it.

I have recently taken up the game of golf and found this to be an excellent place to learn. Its friendly, very challenging (particularly the narrow fairways) and really excellent value for money.
Its certainly not a big course, but the range of par 3 and 4's really do give the amatuer and beginner something to test themselves on. The greens really are very good (far better than other courses nearby), and the course enables you to play a range of middle and short iron shots.
The facilities though are not great. There is no club house to speak of, except for the cafe serving a poor cup of coffee. However, they make up for it in the friendly service and helpful shop.
Most of all thugh, the course never gets very busy, and that in itself is a welcome blessing.

Don't be frightened off by the location of this course - it actually plays quite nicely.
Whilst short the greens are located to give a good challenge and accurate iron play is rewarded.
Greens are in good condition and the shop is friendly.
Speed of play wasn't too slow either as we went around Saturday morning in 4 hours.

I played here on friday morning in what was my first round of golf for about 23 years (after many visits to the driving range). I thought the course played well. The fairways are tight, some VERY tight and challenging. The greens were in excellent condition and played beautifully. Considering it is mid summer the course was in generally fine condition.
The staff in the pro shop are very friendly and approachable and it was only around £12 for the round. I found everyone to be friendly and as I started off as a single I got chatting to the guy coming along behind me and ended up playing out the round with him. All in all a very pleasant experience for my first round for so long. Managed to get around in 99 playing off the yellow tees and i will definitely be going back to try and better that score.

Great course to play, if you can play well around this course you can play just about anywhere else.4832 yards off yellow tees(par66). This course certainly teach's you to play straight. Tight fairways and many holes surrounded by water.(5 holes run alongside the River Lea). Probably the best greens you will play on for a public course.
