As this is a pay to play golf course you need to keep a sense of realisim. 18 hole is a challenge but very featurless, wasnt really a hole to remember. Reasonable price for a round. Fairways and greens need a lot of work as they can be uncut and very weedy. Not exceptional course by any means but ok if you just want to turn up and hit a ball.
The 9 hole is very simple no rough/dreadful greens (more like quite nice fairway!) ...limited sand in the bunkers.
Seems they recently spent more money on the artificial rock garden putting thing than on the course....Good driving range. If you want to pay to play then its decent enough, but if you want a decent course with nice greens then consider a membership at a proper golf club.

V.Poor. The greens are in desperate need of some attention and at the very least you would expect them to be cut closer than your average clubs fairway, it was like putting on weather worn winter greens. There was a distinct lack of sand in the majority of bunkers, course was generally in a poor state of health for August and even one hole was lacking a flag.
Front nine was a flat featureless chore and void of character, it was like playing on a football pitch.

Terrible course, Greens are like putting on a normal fairway. I think the last time the course was cut was about 2 weeks ago. They must not have any groundsmen. You pay £20 for this course which is reasonable but not when you see the state of it. Some of the holes were silly where you have a dogleg left and you shoot straight over the rough at the green... go figure. Clubhouse serves no beers(disappointing). This is a typical club that scrimps and scrapes and is just in it for the money. Won't be going back.

Hylands is a great course to play when the weather is warm. It plays very long, but if you hit solid shots off the tee it is possible to shoot a good score. They have recently attempted to make the greens smaller and the rough thicker and this has made it more of a challenge.
The 9 hole course is great for all beginners with a mixture of holes from 90 yards to over 400 yards.
All in all a good course but could do with a better clubhouse.

Course is currently in reasonably good condition but greens are very slow. I never have trouble booking tee-off times and find that play is never too slow. Course can play very long in the wind but is a good test of golf.

hylands is a tough course for the begginer.
if u have a long drive then it would make the course a lot much easier.
dont play on a windy day though u lose a load of balls and it takes forever to get round
