A very warm welcome in the pro shop which had some good deals. The course was in great condition. This was my first time playing this course and would certainly reccomend this course to any player of any ability. after the round the staff in the club house were friendly and made you very welcome. All in all it was a great experience and will be returning very soon.

A great track that plays really well throughout the year. We play it casually during winter and it is the best around under foot. A great selection of holes very up and down and some monster hits required to hit some in regulation. Best hole the Par 5 11th probably due to my eagle on it today. Great bargains in the club shop and a decent pint in the bar.

Played on a society day in early September.
From making the booking to leaving the course we had a great time. The welcome in the morning with bacon and sausage barm and as much tea/coffee as you could drink was warm and sincere. The manager will organise your nearest the pin and longest drive for you if you want. Lunch was sandwiches and chips and plenty of it. Dinner was again very generous.
The course is quite testing with some very tricky greens and some impossible ones.

I've been playing this course as a guest since it first opened. You could tell back in 94 that it was going to mature into a lovely course, and this has been the case. I finally joined this year and it is wonderful to play. The course is in great shape and remained so all winter - only one winter green in use this past winter. The course is a challenge, with the back-to-back par 5's at 14 and 15 being round-killers which follow the meanest out of bounds both sides par 4 you'll ever see. My tee shot on the 13th is gradually coming down to a 5 iron since I'm sick of going out of bounds on either side with longer clubs. The Pro shop is terrific, staffed by knowledgable and very friendly guys. The food in the club house is excellent - the toasted sandwiches being great to finish a round on, or even to have one in your bag for a mid-round snack.
If you're in the area and fancy a round, I can't recommend Sutton Hall enough - it's a little beauty of a course.

Played this course on a fine March Sunday, and was instantly impressed with the welcome received. We started with a wonderful full english breakfast, readily prepared for our arrival, and then proceeded to the 1st tee were our starter got us going(great touch). The course itself was in great condition, each hole presenting a different challenge (the par 3's especially good), and the greens a real test. The day was rounded off with a couple of pints in the prodigious clubhouse, with steak pudding & chips being sampled from the menu. Perfect.

Very challenging but very enjoyable course. Its hilly and long; every par 4 requires a well struck second shot often with a medium or long iron or even a wood on the hardest holes. The par fives might just be reachable in two by the longest hitters.
We played on a saturday afternoon in october in a four-ball; the pace of play was excellent with no hold-ups.
The only disappointment was that the club-house was closed to prepare for a captain's dinner so no refreshment after the round.
All in all a hidden gem which is maturing very well.
