The course was found easily enough, new signing off the main road may have helped with this. The staff were all friendly and we teed off half an hour ahead of schedule on a quiet Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. The course is relatively short, quite flat and still clearly a new course. I think it's been open for about 13 years. The teeing areas and fairways were in good condition, the bunkers are large and well kept (though some maintenance looks to be taking place in a lot of the bunkers). The greens were only average, the grass was long and the roll of the ball inconsistent. Still worth a visit of you are in the area.

We played here as a small society (8) on a wet Sunday afternoon.
The course is difficult to find - make sure you plan your journey well in advance, we had to ask directions as there was no signposts. On arrival we had bacon balms and coffee as a package booked but for some reason the barmaid wouldn't order them for us as not all players had turned up, which meant we had to eat them on the tee as some players were late.
The course has a fairly well stocked pro shop & general facilities i.e putting green and small driving range. Onto the golf..
The first is a long par 4 with water crossing the fairway approx 200 yards out, a decent enough opener, which takes you to the par 5 second.
Holes to look out for;
7th - Tiny par 3, a good little hole to test your wedge play
12th - Dogleg right par 4, the drive must avoid a large tree and water crossing the fairway. Second shots must avoid a large greenside bunker to the right of the green.
13th - A severe dogleg, long hitters could carry the trees and go for it, otherwise a mid iron to the centre of the fairway is required. A good hole.
18th - Good finishing hole, made easier by an accurate drive. The green is one of the most difficult I've played with a severe slope crossing it.
On completion we ran to the clubhouse as the heavens had opened where a few pints and some good food finished the day off.
A decent enough course, the greens and tees very good, the holes a bit ordinary but challenging. A good day out.

As a 21 HCP'r i found Pryors to be a good challenge but slightly featureless. a couple of long par 4's and a couple of good Par 3's. there is very little water but what there is is well used and will tempt a stray drive. The fairways on the whole are wide and forgiving. The greens whilst looking nice were a bit on the slow side and 'fluffy' All in all a good course to play on an infrequent basis, but not one i'd like to play every week. The clubhouse was well looked after but the pro shop was very limited

The course was not in great condition this day due to the slight downpour around 2-3 hours before my tee time however I was dissapointed as I would not expect the course to be as bad as it was. However Pryors Hayes was an entertaining course due to the slopes and dips that resolved during my game. The course was a slight challenge however could be made to a much better course dependent on better quality of looking after and from a friend what I here the fees are only 30 pounds for a junior member - if this was boosted to maybe an average fee of 70-100 pounds maybe this would boost income and therfore give them more to use on keeping the course tidier. However as I said - some work needs to be done to make it more challenging.

We have just played this course as the final venue in a 3 course tour and we found it ideal after playing 2 tougher courses on the previous 2 days. It was in excellent condition, the greens not ultra fast but in good condition and the staff were as helpful as you would find anywhere. For a Golf Society venue we would recommend it.

Spent a very enjoyable day on this course on the 3rd August 2005. Very friendly welcome, nothing too much trouble for the staff. Only negative was playing final nine holes of the afternoon folowing a bloke using a buggie driven by his wife. She was not playing but went onto every green and threw a couple of balls down and proceeded to putt these out even after the 'player' had completed the hole. This meant that we had to wait on the tee, making play slower than nessacary despite the course being busy all day. This sort of thing should be sorted out for the clubs sake.
