Having got a midweek day off work and the lads having one of those infernal training days (don't remember getting any of those in my day)it was a real disappointment to wake up to a leaden grey sky and beating rain. So the snooker hall was the best option. By lunchtime however there was a break in the weather, so a quick call and 25 minute drive and we were stood in the pro shop with a 2 fore 1 voucher with the course virtually to ourselves (clearly we were the only idiots to venture out in the gloom).
The eldest lad had played it twice before so knew the crack and immediately put the knowledge to good use with a succession of pars leaving us adults in his wake. The fairways were amazingly firm and the greens quick given the torrential rain which returned again by the time we reached the turn. The course is not long and is not overly difficult resulting in none of us losing a ball, an unusual feat. However it was pleasant ith a good variety of holes, well looked after and you certainly felt you had played a course with quality. Will definitely revisit when the elements allow.

I have just joined this club after visiting it a few times, and i have to say they are very welcoming, the course is not a long course but it is challenging, and if you need some lessons as i did the golf pro can work wonders as i found out.
if you fancy a round get in touch via this site

I joined MYGC just over a year ago. It is the best 600 quid I have ever spent (£150 for my lad). Perhaps this might be something to do with golf in itself (as opposed to the course), nevertheless, I can not imagine anything I would rather do, and this course delivers within two miles of my house. I always can find a slot (even weekends), and though I would agree that winter greens are an annoyance at times, the condition of the summer greens seems to justify their utility. I played about twice a week in early 2004, and I must have played winter greens about three times only.
Happy to show anybody round, just email via this site.
No I am not paid by the club, and am not active on the social side. I am just a very satisfied customer.

Have played this course just recently for the first time in 2 years, and it has improved as a venue. Not long by any stretch but offers a good challenge.
Not many courses that i can think of have winter tee's as far back as the white markers---top marks for that. And apart from odd muddy spot the course is playable all year on the greens.

After looking at the reviews on this page I feel none do the course justice, as these are old reviews, but some warranted critisism was due, The course now, is in the best condition I have seen it, with all the greens in very good condition , all the tees has signs describing the hole and also a map on them too. I am so impressed that I am cosidering joining. please ignor the reviews above and go and try for yourself ..You will not be disappionted..... Alan
