We played this course on 28th June 2009,although the greens were ok ( but a bit slow ) the fairways were not very good at all, it looked like they had not been cut for days, they were full of clover.
The group behind us were members and ,as we were standing at our drives (waiting for group in front to move )they started to drive off , this happened four times ! "unbelievable" .
We are going back in September (all ready paid)and we are hoping for a better round.
The lay out of the course is good .

We have played this course several times over the last 12 months and we keep returning. The course has wildlife in abundance that makes the day even more enjoyable. Overall the course has several demanding holes where accuracy of the Tee is vital. After your first round you will have a better idea of placements so your next visit will not be as demanding. Lots of Water holes and tree lined fairways make this a good test for your average handicap golfer.
Greens and bunkers in great condition even in the winter so its a credit to the green keepers and staff. It has been mentioned in previos ratings that this course does not paly well in the wet...well i do not now many course's that play that perticulaly well in the wet and this is no worse or better than others.
Club house very obliging and a great bacon sandwich after the 9th hole..call on the 9th Tee and it will be waiting for you at the 10th tee...top draw...Club shop and manager always gives you a great welcome. I like this course/Club so much we became members today..my
logic try the rest but keep going back to this little jem...

I am afraid I cannot agree with other player comments on this course. I played it on 14/9/08 and it was in poor condition. The greens were painfully slow and bumpy, and the fairways and many bunkers were sodden. The course layout was pretty but too many holes have been tricked up with substantial use of water hazards and in my opinion this ruins the course. The catering was very good (especially the bacon sarnies and the mushroom soup).

Played Aldersey Green last saturday with my 10 year old son. Cost £15 for the pair of us - absoulutely fantastic value for money.
The course is quite tough, especially the first time round due to the numerous hazards which seem to appear from nowhere. Also, on a few holes it is important to hit the correct side of the fairway. There are some cracking holes, particularly the 5th, 7th and 9th on the front and 11th, 15th and 17th on the back. Greens were in good condition and the walk was very enjoyable with loads of wildlife and the feeling of tranquility.
Could potentially be a slogfest in the winter though as even in August there were one or two soggy areas.
Practice facilities are limited but the clubhouse was OK and the staff were very friendly. As it is only 5 miles from home I will definately be back for more.

Played the course at the weekend (12/4/8) with a society. The packaged offered was very good, lovely food and warm welcome. The course unfortunatly was very wet with alot of standing water on the fairways, although to be fair the greens where in very good condition.
The slow faiways made for a bit of a slog around this picturesque course with alot of water (Not just the puddles) to contend with. I would like to revisit when there has not been so much rain.
Overall I would recommend playing as long as you keep an eye on the weather leading up to your visit as the course finds it hard to cope with a lot of water.
