Played the course with our society in November ( 28 members ). As my previous note the staff welcome you from the moment you arrive, to the extent that you feel they have mistaken you for a member!!. We tend to pick the course for playing this time of year due to its excellent drainage. The weather had been poor but once again all greens were in play and the whole course was a real creditto the ground staff. Lots of evidence of their winter programme commencing which on first view will only add to the course challenge and variety.
The only point I would make, without wanting to sound snobbish is that the bar area etc is starting to look a bit tired, but this is not the main priority ( is it ? )
Would recommenend the course and still waiting for the oportunity to play in summer conditions.

Played this course again today and was made welcome from the moment we arrived. The course is in excellent condition after recent bad weather, and the green keepers have done a great job in spite of the irresponsible players who dont repair their pitchmarks. Having played here several times and not seeing this problem as severe at the other courses I play, I can only assume the members are not without blame (shame on you). Notwithstanding pichmarks greens are excellent for early March. Well done all the staff at the club.
NEIL WATKINS (England) 02/12/06
Played the course 18/11/06 with 24 society members. The course was in excellent condition considering the horrendous weather. In fact I rang on the Saturday to see if there would be any chance of the course being closed, I think the gent at the other end of the phone was quite offended that I even asked !!!!
The staff in the clubhouse were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The course although not over long from yelow tees was a good challange with sufficient variety of holes and difficulty rating. The greens were all in play and again a good challange. Really enjoyed the course ( no I didn,t win )and have already penciled in for next year, well worth a visit.

Played this course last week and I must say I absolutely loved it. The course is really quite flat (which suits me....hate hills) but with numerous dog legged hole, still presents a challenge to any standard of golfer, especially from the back tees.
I have played many courses all around the country including many Championship Courses and I was lucky enough to play at The Grove outside Watford at the end of last year where they are holding the World Golf Championhips this year. For me this course condition was on a par (excuse the pun) if not better than many of those courses. Thats how much impressed I was !!
The greens were not too fast that they were like glass, but just right, defintely not so wooly they were really slow either. They were also consistent speeds all the way round.
One bad point though. I was playing with some local guys who knew their way round. I think if I was on my own or with another player who also had not playe dthe course before I would have definatley got lost and played some of the holes out of order !!
Can't wait to get the opportunity to go back and play it again now I know my way round !!

having found this course on the web and having played most of doncasters courses a friend and i decided to drive the 25 miles to the course and have to say it wasn't a wasted trip. Very good course & was taken aback to find we didn't have to tee up on fairways or use temporary greens in the middle of winter. Still a course which needs a few more years to develop its hole dividing as most of the trees are still young . its quite a long course im mean where else can u use a driver to tee of with on all but two holes and there over water .but once youve finished i must tell you to try the steak pie its lovley & resonably priced, so i will de be returning to this course often as its cheap for such a good course there arent nany that can match price for an enjoyable challanging round of golf.
