A bland and uninspiring flat golf course with the strangest clubhouse I have ever seen. Played there for the first (and last) time 3 days ago, and my first impression was a collection of fields with flags dotted amongst them! Far to expensive for what you get, especially as there are better courses within a 10 mile radius.

i have played mersey valley loads of times and each time I return there it gets worse. The fairways USED to be good but now have weeds on them, the tees aren't flat, that greens are bobbly and untrue. The worst part about all of this is that they ask for £250 for annual junior memberships which is way too high for such a medioka golf course.

Played this course as a 2 ball under the 2for1 voucher. The course was in superb condition, the best i have seen it.The course is quite an easy walking course but there are some tough holes if you stray offline with trees and deep rough to contend with,as i found out to my cost. The staff and members are nice and friendly and there is a nice pint and bar food in the 19th hole, just to finish off a good day.All in all,a good course and they accept 2for1,bonus.There is also a security guard to keep an eye on things whilst you are playing,no need to worry about the motor.

Mersey Valley, located not far from Warrington town centre, is a relatively new parkland course with a host of decent holes.
We played there as a four ball on a Sunday, the pro shop was being refurbished so there was only a temporary reception which stocked just the basic essentials.
The course starts with a mid length par 4 with out of bounds to the left, a simple enough hole if kept straight.
Holes to look out for -
4th - Short par 4 which doglegs sharply to the left, longer hitters may favour an iron off the tee leaving a short iron in.
11th - Standard length par 4, a well placed drive is required short of a brook to a well protected green. Anything right might be lost.
The course is relatively flat and, unfortunately, rather uninspiring. The holes lack character and whilst the course has matured over the years, it's still a bit like a field with bunkers.
The clubhouse was a bit small but served a decent menu - it's looks a bit of a shack from the outside though, not sure what the architect was thinking when they designed it.
On a postive note however the greens were good and the tee's well manicured - each hole had a 15o yard marker as well as tee markers.
There are however better courses to play in the local vicinity.

i have played here twice in the last 2 weeks and have found the the course in good nick.
but as all the other comments have said ok for high handicapper but not to mid to low handicap would find it very easy.
club house and shop good but for a round of golf there are better courses for the same price

Ive played here a few times recently and found the course to be fairly uninspiring with many routine holes broken up with a few nice par 3s over water. The fairways are well kept, and the greens are generally OK, but one or two are quite worn in patches.
On the whole, I think it provides a reasonable round for a middle/high handicapper, but better players would find more of a challenge elsewhere. If, however, the wind is blowing it becomes much more difficult to post a good score.

A flat parkland couse with wide fairways and good greens. A lot of trees yet to mature will further enhance the course. As a 24 h'cap I found it a useful test but a low h'cap may well find it boring. Nice modern clubhouse with good facilities and well stocked pro shop. At £28 it was on the high side, but overall worth it.
