I played Rufford Park over the Easter weekend, which to say was wet, windy and with very frequent snow flurries!
To course presented challanges on a number of levels which were added toby the weather. From the 1st to the 18th the course held up well, presenting some intreasting challanges with each hole being distinct from the previous ones. The sandy soil provided excellent drainage with no standing water on the course,at present the only lett down is the temporary green on the 18th which is currently being returfed due to the addition of 2 new bunkers on the approach.
The stand out hole for me was the 17th par 3, a miss hit tee shot to the front of the bridge! A chip onto the bridge to the green, then a par putt!!
The staff proved to be friendly and welcoming, when combined with one off the best fry-ups off my life in the club house. At £25 for the golf and £5 for the food I can't wait to play this course in good weather.

I would thoroughly recommend players of all standards visit this lovely, scenic course.
I played the course as part of a society day out on the 5th of November 2007 and found the experience very pleasant.
The staff were extremely helpful, catering was exceptional value and the course in excellant condition for this time of year.
The course has many varying holes with a couple of fabulous par 3's.
The course offers opportunities for the use of every club in the bag and will provide players of all standards a tidy test.

Played on a beautiful autumn day in October, and the course just gets better and better. This is the second time I've played, and at £16 for a weekday round there's no better value anywhere! Even after a week of heavy rain, the course played beautifully (it's on sandy soil, so drains well), and the tees and greens were a real credit to the greenkeeper. The layout is well thought out, with each hole very different to the last, and one or two gems (par 3s in particular). Clubhouse jas fabulous views out over the course, and the practice facilities are also good. Couple all that with a very warm welcome, and it's near-perfect golf!

Played this course on 1/10/6. Very impressed, turned up early and paid our £28 which is the weekend visitors rate. After making use of the lovely driving range we were given some very in depth directions from hole to hole by the very friendly starter. Each hole is impressive and I found the fact that you can see the layout in front of you very helpful as most of the tees are elevated. Even after heavy rain that week the course was in fantastic condition, the greens were a bit fluffy, but its only to be expected after the amount of rain they have taken. Not overly long but definitely gets you thinking from the tee. Really nice par 3's of varying lengths the 17th being the pinnacle of the lot, we had quite a wait on the tee and all the time we were waiting we were trying to make up out minds which club to use, even as I struck the ball I still wasnt sure, so I was very pleased to cross the river. I saw a comment saying the tees were forward on this hole, well I can safely say they werent for us and it was the full 169yds. The 13th is a long par 5 (589yds) but not impossible to reach in 2 or 3. The 9th is also a great hole 420yds par 4, narrow , tree lined fairway to a huge valley 100yds from the green which makes your 2nd a tricky one if you are on the downslope, all in all a very nice course which I will be playing again, very busy though for such an out of town location on some holes there were 4 groups waiting, but we all had a laugh and a joke so no complaints.

1 May 2005.
Played Rufford Park over the weekend and this is a beautiful course. Many different types of holes presenting a challenge to golfers of all abilities. There are some lovely water hazards that are 'do or die' type. The greens and fairways are very well maintained, with some very testing contours to each green giving the potential for some very interesting pin positions. Easily one of the best courses in the area. £13 for 9 holes and about £20 to £25 for 18.
