The Manor is the first full size course I ever played on and I still play here twice a week. The corse is a challenge with very interesting holes. Everybody is very friendly and always offering advice. At seven pound a round (a fiver on Mondays) it's unbeatable value for money. reccomended.

I've only played this course twice,1st time was June this year, and then today.

Considering the rain we have had in the area it was a pleasant suprise to see how good most of the fairways are. Only three of them are slightly boggy the rest seem to be in great condition for the time of year.

Off the winter tee's but still on normal greens, pretty fast at that.

Took 2.30 hours for eighteen holes and only spotted two others playing.

dont let the approach road put you off,it needs resurfacing.

All in all its a bargain at £7 a round.

Mondays £5.

Owner in the shop very friendly and welcoming, coffee machine needed though.

...having played the Manor regularly for over a year now I can definately say it is my favourite local course. As a beginner the thrill of returning a round with more balls than I started with is a big plus. The Manor is an Alladin's Cave in this respect. In the last 12 months my haul is well over 100!

Ideal spots are the narrow ditches between the tee and the green on the 1st, 4th,and 11th. No-one ever seems to trawl after lost balls here.

The ditch that runs up the side of the 2nd is also worth checking. As it has steep sides you'll often see lost balls from errant 2nd T shots on the far side and overhit fairway shots from the 15th on the near side.

The dog leg 3rd results in a fair number of fading T shots out of bounds in the adjacent field and although the electric fence looks intimidating, its well worth a quick reccy.

Last round I picked up five here (including 4 brand new TopFlite).

There is a similar opportunity afforded by the field adjacent to the 6th.

Finally, if time's on your side try browsing the motorway banking that runs alongside the 16th. It's a real ball trap for tiring elderly players, who are often too arthritic to climb the fence in search of their T shot.

Anyone know of any other courses as good as this one?

Happy Hunting

Manor Golf Club offers something for the beginner through to the average player, although a relativly new course some of the holes are quite challenging including a few blind tee shot holes and 2 blind green holes, the scorecard has a course indicator on it, above average players may find the relative straight fairways with only 2 doglegs on the whole course, easy to come to terms with, definatly a mid to high handicappers course in my view, some nice views from the top of the course, basically built around a hill not too undulating but not flat either, worth a visit, practice putting green and driving net, £11 as of april 2004 weekend £7 mon-thur £9 fri
