Played here on the the 28/02/08 as part of a society. I had never played this course before nor had heard anything about it. I was pleasantly suprised with the first impressions. The clubhouse was nice and the views over the course looked very well maintained.

The course doesn't have much distance and i would definatly say that the back 9 is nicer than the front, specifically the back to back par 5's were 'real' golf holes. The greens were in superb condition and ran very true. Probably the best greens i've played this year so far.

There are some interesting holes and a few average holes, but in general a nice course to play. With so much water around the course it is only a shame the water doesn't come into play more often.

Well worth a round.

Being new to the UK - it has proven increasingly difficult to find a Good Golf Course to play without paying £60 for the round. CAMS was a spectacular find in terms of value for money. The first difference you notice is that you actually make out the difference between the fairway and the rough. The small things that count - the way in which the tee boxes are properly cut and prepared. Distance markers in place, and guess what - a Distance Guide available at the Pro-Shop (something many more courses should think about investing in) - nothing worse than playing a course for the first time and getting no help from the Greenkeeper on distance to the flag - don't you hate having to guess the distance on a Par 3. Not so at CAMS. Well worth the money paid (approx £12 for 9, £24 for 18). And to top it off a choice of 27 holes (1x18 and a 9-hole - all 27 of the same standard - although some might say the 18 holes are more challenging).

Generally, I cannot say the most challenging of courses (as long as you drive straight) - with a couple of par 5's reacahble in 2 with a 3 iron second - and I do not hit a ball that far.

So in summary - not an overly difficult course but a fair test of golf - greens that DO actually hold (you do not have to play with a Balata) - and a well presented course. Certainly one of the Better "Visitor's allowed" courses out there." Well done CAMS.

We played Cams Hall this Saturday 22/1/05 at just after 12 noon. We all thought the golf course was in cracking condition when you consider the time of year. The greens, tees and bunkers were in my view better than any course in the area. Our round cost us £29 which after a quality baquette and a pint after I spent less than £40 for a really enjoyable day. I would reccomend Cams for the quality of course and the general high standards of everything else on offer. A+

Cams Hall, agreed on first impression looks like an expensive members only club, However pleasantly surprised both by the good condition (no mean feat with the rain this winter), varying difficulty and reasonable fees of the Club. The first "proper course" i played on repeatedly and has some intriging holes, namely the 4th on the Creek course which is a longish Par 3 over water, very satisfying to land a 5 wood on the green and have it stick! Also the 2nd on the park course which does mitigate against slicing your drives in fear of the woods up the right hand side. A friendly pro shop with very little snobbery, and a beautiful clubhouse setting within the lakes, adjacent to the boats on the river. Highly and heartily recomended.

Good challenging course. Always in good condition and playable throughout the year. Will suit most golfers high to low handicaps. In my opinion the hardest hole is 16 which is a long par 5 with out of bounds left and right. It has ruined many of my cards. Hole 4 is called the Prisoner and has to be the signature hole its a 200yard par 3 over water that can feel double into the wind. The Park course which is 9 holes is as good and is worth a look at also.
