Aylesbury Park Golf Club Player Reports
Bill Earlie (England) 19/04/04
too many players crammed on, as it is a pay and play there is very little in the way of golf manners.... it took over 4 hours for a 2 ball.
That said it had some cracking par 3's, worth the money but only when its quiet.
Jon Pondsford (England) 23/10/03
Played here as a society at the end of the long dry summer of 2003. That said the tees and the greens in particular were in very good condition. This is an ideal society course allowing all level of golfers to play to their handicap or better. There are six par threes and a couple of long par fours, it cant be described as a challenging course but it is not a dangerous course, the shout of “four” was not heard all day. There is plenty of space and good use has been made of land, it is completely flat so it’s ideal older golfers and any one wishing to carry.
The young staff are keen and very pleasant, catering is basic but wholesome, the bacon rolls can be recommended, the whole clubhouse is non-smoking!
Robert Webb (Great Britain) 28/03/03
the 9 hole course is a pleasure all par three's ideal for the novice and challanging enough for the experiance golfer to keep to par. Very friendly club with a nice water hazard on the 7th to test the nerve.
Brian Bakker (UK) 11/03/03
The 9 hole pitch and putt is now open (Longest hole is around 90 yards, and the shortest is around 60 yards) and makes excellent practice for your short game.
The main 18 hole course now has water and bunkers. You will find water to the left of the green on the par 3 2nd and 8th holes. Bunkers can be found now on the 5th, 6th and 7th holes. There are also ditches/steams on the 1st, 9th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 18th.
Most fairways are forgiving with a wide second cut, but the rough is quite high during the summer and not so forgiving!
Nice course with a par 70.
Jenny Woodford (UK) 15/10/01
Bunkers were constructed in October 2001
Martin Hollands (England) 02/09/01
A mature Parkland course with NO bunkers. The fairways are generally nice and wide, although the semi rough is brought in during the summer. Always really nicely presented with excellent greens. There is nothing to worry the novice, but you need to be really accurate to get the best score out of this course. Being enhanced with a 9 hole course being added in 2002, better clubhouse facilities and more water being added. Well worth a visit
