Played in February 07, so course was wet especially on bottom section, a tough course with some good holes, hilly for the area which i thought made it more interesting than some other courses nearby. Good reception at clubhouse(static caravan), nice price I would go back

Our Bolton past captains' society played this course as a number of courses in the York area were closed owing to flooding. We were well received by the staff at what was short notice.

The layout of the couse is very good many of the par fours being dog legs. Memorable holes are the second where you have to put your ball in the right place otherwise the ball lands in the pond or if you are too right the green is blocked out by trees. The fourth is a par 5 measuring 600 yards off the yellow tees and follows a rise into the prevailng wind. But thanks to the generous fairway a player can give the ball a good whack without being penalised unfairly. The 17th is a tricky par three with wter on the right and a power pylon on the left one of my playing companions actually went through the posts and onto the green. This might be the best line in!

The greens were a little lush as might be expected following the wet weather but they were fair and true. The course was well drained and is probably plyable throughout the year.

All in all it was a satisfying day and the venue will be much improved when the new clubhouse is complete.

what can i say but wow what a tough course, played it 5th june 07 ,you have fairway, semi rough, half jungle full jungle,i really struggled on this course but really enjoyed it,green were sum of trickiest i have putted on and so did all of our 4 ball say to aswell, miss the fairway and hit any rough and your ball just seems to nestle down in it as i found out ,2nd is great hole narrow drive with pond on left then if u miss fairway sum very mature tree 2 go over, the 3rd par 3 around 200yrds if any1 has hit this green let me no,its a reversed green sloping from front to back, well worth a visit £20 on a 241 so a tenner each for 4hrs ov pain or it was in my case in defo going back 4 another crack and with a bit ov luck they might ov chopped the rough back abit but saying that the amount ov rough i was in i have prob chopped it down myself

This is a lovely course. Lying on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and on fine clear days, offering great views of the Vale of York and the distant Pennines. A few tough holes of note; the par 3, 3rd. Tee shot to an elevated green with a large tree in the way for extra annoyance. This in turn is followed by the 600 yard par 5. A real brute if playing into the wind. The 18th, though not too difficult, is called Hunger Hill. Aptly named as by this time, after walking up hill and down dale, you are ready for the offerings of the clubhouse. Always made to feel welcome here.

Played Kilnwick Percy on a sunny day but was very wary beforehand due to the low cost, therefore we were not expecting too much. Clubhouse quite unimpressive (large wooden hut!) but everyone was VERY friendly. Catering excellent and beer good. Golf? SUPERB. Wonderful course, well kept, receptive greens. Good test of golf on an undulating course - well worth the money, well worth a visit. Cannot reccomend too highly! Play it, you won't be dissapointed.
