Played course twice over Easter weekend. The greens were very fast for this time of the year and tricky to read to say the least - several three putts from surprising lengths.
The course was immaculate - puts many private courses to shame, and is a real challenge for any standard of golfer.
No two holes the same; uphill and down dale; thoroughly enjoyable, and I didn't score well!
Friendly, and a lovely view up the tenth and eighteenth holes while you have your coffee or pint on the terrace. Congratulations to all at the course.

Very friendly in the Pro Shop and the Bar. The course was in very good condition with the greens being lightning fast in some places. The course is beautifully peaceful and has some very good holes. It is quite open so people don't spend hours looking for balls and hence the pace was pretty good. The 14th was my favourite hole - Drive to the top of a hill and then a downhill second to a well protected green. Good value at £19 midweek.

Played here recently with a friend of mine. The course is a challenge for sure with several blind approaches. It's a good walk so maybe a trolley, we carried but it's long and hilly!!

What a good course! A very fair course that was surprisingly long, and in tip top condition. I would recommened it to any one. Some very long par5's which let me play with my new driver excellent, just
be carefull of the wind! Everyone at the club were cordial and helpfull and the shop and bar were pretty good as well.

Boughton is an absolute gem of a course. The condition of the course puts most private courses to shame and for a pay and play is nothing short of remarkable. Great value and a lovely clubhouse make for superb round of golf. The course itself is defintely one for getting the driver out as the fairways are wide and long and fairway bunkers are non existent so let it rip! Watch out for the wind though as it can get a bit blustery.

This course is always in good condition and only closes when it snows. Plays as well in the winter as in the summer and you don't walk off the course with your ankles covered in mud.
You will need to be a player who handles windy conditions well, as this makes the course even more challenging when really windy.
Even though most of the greens slope away from you, they will still hold with a balata ball.
Don't lose heart if you are struggling to begin with, the first four holes are the hardest, especially the second which is long, narrow and has hazards in the places to trap you.
The 5th, 6th and 15th holes are par 4's that are reachable for the longer hitters.
The new par 3 9th hole is a great test of golf, being in excess of 200 yards with a greenside pond. This is made harder as the wind is usually straight in your face.
You may wish to take a mountain goat with you to help you up the 1st fairway. Don't worry about not needing him again, as you will also use him from the 11th green to 12th tee and from the 16th green to the 17th tee.
You may look at the 12th hole and mistake it for a pitch and putt hole, only being 100 yards long. Try to keep your sniggering to yourself until you have finished the hole however, as you may end up in one of the bunkers that try to grab your ball as it lands.
Once you have dragged yourself up to the 17th tee, with the aid of your mountain goat, take solice in the fact that you only have 2 par 5's left to play, the 17th is 530 yards and the 18th being 588 yards.
On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf with often very scenic views on a course that is in excellent condition.
