I'm a beginner to Golf. The club isn't the most glamorous but then it's not pretentious either. Good driving range and a fun 9 hole course which is great to learn the game on.
They are currently doing up the shop to be a custom fitting centre which will bring some new life in.
Great prices: £5 for 9holes and £5 for 120 balls on the driving range. Lots of deals on for games + food.
Could do with tarting up a bit here and there.
As a beginner: love it!

A public 9 hole course, which, believe it or not, allowed a group of us on a stag weekend to play - now that's a relaxed visitor policy!
A great place for youngsters and beginners to start, more than a mere pitch and putt, this has genuine Par 3's and a couple of Par 4's measuring 300 yards +. The greens are surprisingly good, a pity the tees weren't a bit better, but the set-up here is good and allows people to learn the game.
Not everyone is born with a 15 handicap and able walk into any private club that they want too. A lot of people need to start out on a course like this and learn the game a bit first. This course allows you to do that and all credit to the owners for what they are trying to do!

Visit here quite regularly with friends for a nice, relaxed round of golf. Nice easy course to walk with some challenging holes for us high handicappers! Very friendly staff, and reasonable prices. The Hawthorns Par 3 course is perfect for my 8 yr old son, maybe too small though for adults to find challenging. Overall a nice, unpretentious club which offers a nice if not ultimately testing 9 holes. My only criticism would be that the toilets need more regular attention.

This is a funny course. It's very very flat. There are no hills at all, apart from the odd mound. It's a good course to go on if you're starting out, or want a little knock around. They should charge less than what they do. But, I play here now and then when in Nottingham with some friends who are not regular golfers. It's good if you go in a group of 3 or 4.
