Played Harrogate GC at the end of April 2007. First impressions are favourable, clubhouse looks great, the vista from the first tee is encouraging, but all those encouraging features pail into insignificance when you reach the greens. The greens were shocking, tufts of grass growing were they had been hollowtined and overseeded. Although the ball ran well, the greens were'nt true and did not inspire confidence. A shame really as the layout of the course was good.

Played early May - £40 for a day ticket - excellent value since I did two rounds and could have done more if I was fitter.
Course isn't to challenging, but tests most club golfers more than enough. Course all links together, with a good mix of holes over a fairly flat course. Back holes more tricky since you play into the wind on some long par 4s. Course generally in good condition given the amount of rain recently. Drainage excellent.
Club house very much Harrogate style, but a high quality members club with nice changing rooms and plenty of space. Practise facilities limited to a putting green and a large field.
Friendly pro shop - adequate stocks of most things. Played first round with members - very friendly and happy to assist.
All in a bargain day made even better by the excellent weather
