Yes it is a tough demanding but fair new course with fantastic facilities. The greens are undoubtedly excellent. The course is still very new and the course seems to lack atmosphere; unfortunately some the fairways are getting a bit rough in this dry summer. Overall a good course but lacks the style and maturity of older courses like Bowood. (I scored 31 points and didn't lose a ball which means the water holes are not too difficult).

Just had a society day here and the whole event was marvellous from our reception to the final meal. The course was wonderful and the greens were in excellant condition. A great day out.

Cumberwell Park is without doubt one of the best new courses in the south west. Anyone who tells you it's better than the championship course at Bowood is having a laugh but it is no less worth a visit despite that.
There are three (somewhat tritely named) 9s. The 'Woodland' 9 isn't a great deal more wooded than the 'Parkland' 9 but is probably the best of the 3. It includes a couple of great par 3s and a monster (please forgive ghastly Eric Hall phrase!) 470-odd yard par 4.
Needless to say, the 'lakeland' 9 is fun to play but should be given a very wide berth by anyone who has a tendency to spoon their ball into any water hazard that's around.
IMHO, the 'parkland' 9 is the poorer relation of the three but is still well worth a crack.
One more point: the greens are absolutely fantastic - I've played the course twice in recent weeks, in appalling conditions, and on both occasions they played wonderfully and not a temporary green in sight.
Rumour has it that there's a fourth nine under construction (prizes for guessing what they'll call that one?)
The whole place will be even better in a few years when it's had time to mature but, what the hell, go and visit it now anyway.

A fantasic course! My personal favourite. The best golf course for miles around the Bath area. I recomend it to everyone, and the lessons are also very helpfull to all skill levels.

A gem, no more need be said, go, go back, and keep going back, this is better than Bowood in Wiltshire, 10/10, one of my personal favourites.
