I organised a society day here on March 22 2008. The week running up to the event was wet, it snowed early morning on the day, yet the course was in great shape.
It,s not overly long, but the dog-legs make you place your ball.
The practice facilities were not up to much but all in all an excellent society venue.

I played this course about 10 yars ago and thought it was about time i started to play it again toward the end of last year.
compared to some of the Worcester course, I find it quite long. (can't remeber par and yardages)
The course (especially the front nine) is quite flat. the back nine gets a little more hilly with one or two real leg killers.
the greens are of a good quality all the way round.
One thing that is annoying is the yardages. they are a mile out for sure. Eg, There are two holes on the back nine that run up and down (14 and 17 I think). The tee is by the green on each hole but 17 is supposedly 30 yards longer than 14 and is a par 5 rather than a par 4 on 14. very weird. I can reach the par 5 in two with a driver and a 6 iron. I can't reach the par 4 with a driver and a 3iron !!
I suppose it all works out equal in the end but that is besides the point.
The 150yard markers are a mile out too.
There are no real practice facilities to speak of other than a tatty old driving net. there is a very comprehensive driving range next door but the don't open at the same time as the golf club so if you have an early tee time you are stuffed.
Saying all that i do enjoy a knock roung here form time to time, but not my first choice

Played on the 4/12/2005, I was surprised that the course was open because of the snow and rain we'd had earlier in the week. But I was assured that the course was dry by the Club Professional who told me that the course was open all year round because it was built on sand.
I like the course in general, you can't get much better for £15 with a 2 for 1 voucher. It was dry as the pro suggested, except the first hole where it was a little soggy around the pin - the rest of the green was bone dry! It's not overly long, around 5900 yds off the yellows, but for my standard it is a good test of golf. (I've only been playing for 5 months) Membership I thought was very reasonable - there was different types £480 for 7 day membership, £120 for club membership (you get £7 knocked off when you play)
Overall I think it's a good friendly course.

Firstly, it must be acknowledged that our small society managed to play 27 holes on 2F1 for £10 each. However, in our 10 year history, it is one of the very few local courses we have not played, and having now been, it will be another 10 years before we return. As with other reports, the course was relatively well maintained, but it was boring, lacking in character and features. The back 9 is slightly more enjoyable than the front 9, but even so, a forgetable experience. The food wasn't up to much either. If I'd have thought they could have done better second time around, I'd have sent my meal back. If all you want to spend is a tenner, fair enough. But you get what you pay for.

Played on a society day (group of 12)
Well maintained course, flat open fairways, some side by side, meant you can open up and not get punished too badly, good large true greens, quite a few bunkers to avoid. A good challenge for a mid handicapper.
Friendly staff, nice clubhouse, excellent food and beer good value.
Everybody had a good time, would play it again.
Mark
