Played this course again recently when it was blowing a gale and sleet, found it tough to maintain my handicap of 14, though just achieved it. As it was bank holiday the price was a little steep.

This course is easyish if you are a long accurate driver, if not you will struggle because the greens, whilst good in quality are small, sloping and often plateaued, steeply on some. The new greens, the 8th and 14th unforetunately play differently to the rest, they bounce like dried out links greens.

The most tricky hole I find is the 16th par 3. The tee and the green are raised with you unable to see the putting surface. The front of the green is defended by 3 deep bunkers and with a 3/4 iron or a wood in your hands it is tough to hold the green, best way to play is let it hit the embankment behind, which will hold your ball on the green.

Played on a wet Saturday January 2007. A standard "new" course laid out on uninspiring agricultural land, where a few lakes have been dug, and a lot of trees planted. The course is designed for high handicappers and occasional golfers and should not be faulted for appealing to those less able. Many par 4's are under 300 yards, which puts many of the greens in range of 5 woods, let alone drivers.

The greens were in good condition, but the fairways were boggy which of course is too be expected in Winter.

At £18 for a round on Saturday I though it was very expensive. If you have a handicap better than 24 I would look elsewhere for a more challenging round. Plus the sound of jet skis and being on the flight path to East Midlands did not make for the most tranquil of outings. Decent Clubhouse though.

i play 6 hills most friday mornings, after coming off the night shift. its a nice course which over the years has been maintained really well, the greens are lovely and should stay that way in the winter. also the course is getting expanded, and should be ready next spring, i think. it will improve the course even more.

l play this course quite regular and find it well kept,greens and tees are very good At the moment the course is going through some changes too a couple of holes ,but is'nt spoiling the round (this should lengthen the course and make it abit more challenging)...... can't wait. Very pleasant staff and excellent grub

played today, had really great weather and to be fair the course was in great shape for its age. very very easy course, and with a little more knowledge of the cousre i would have made it look like a pitch and putt. a bit of work going on at the moment and this made the card yardages well out. i was driving beyond most of the greens on the back nine due to this. last hole is a nice easy par five if your a short hitter of the tee, i however went in the water hazard (300 yrds) off the tee but took a drop and still made par. all in all a good day out and comes recommended.

played this course last week and wow what a course. the greens are in great shape, most of the fairway is lush and them doglegs really make you think. a very nice course with very friendly staff.

Played it quite a bit, apart from Estepona in Spain it was my first 18 Holer, Nice easy par 4 then a 3 to get you into it, then the ditches, bunkers water and bigger trees gradually increase up to the tenth which has a nightmare green, after that its dog legs nearly all the way home with some big trees. Very well maintained, and a brilliant attitude by most players and staff. The 19th is very relaxing and I recommend Sunday Dinner, done it a few times and never been disappointed yet.

Good course for beginners and more experienced players alike

As a beginner I found this course quite challenging but in a good way well kept tees a lot of very intresting holes including the 10th all in all a very good course and I hope to play it a lot more this year my best hole was the long 18th down in six not bad for my third eighteen holer

i recently played this course with my golf society and found it difficult in places. i won the match but endured a torrid first 8 holes. luckily other members of my club had trouble in the back 9 where things certainly get more difficult. my overall judgement of the course is that is enjoyable for beginners and experienced players with excellent facilities and a staff that is second to none.

I have played this course several times over the last 18 months in all seasons. It is always well kept and is quite testing without being vicious. I have never encountered long queue times and the general facilities are good.

Great course..have played here alot over the past couple of years...Greens are well maintained and i can't think of a better course to play in the summer on a nice warm day. Just enough water to give trouble of some holes..My bogey hole is the 8th..Never played that well..

The 10th is a tricky green..(they like putting the pin top left)everything rolls down to the right.Hit the green and you can still face an uphill 20 yard put.

Front 9 is a nice stroll and doesnt take too much thinking about some nice holes like the tricky 3rd hole par 3..bunker put nicely 30 yards infront of the green. the back has lots of dogleg lefts, the 13th and 14th easily reachable in 2..

No tees times walk on and play..after about 3pm anyday is a good time to play..The 19th is a great place too..Mines a guinness

I play off a handicap of 19 and found the course well managed with plenty of water features, as well as my favourite hole, the short but tricky 9th with water punishing anything to the right of a green in regulation.

The greens themselves were well managed and the rough was light ( non existent on some holes) which meant high and mid handicappers can give it a good whack off the tee.

I find the front nine to be better designed, and easier. The back nine incorporates plenty of doglegs, the 18th hole is a monster of a par 5, and the par three 16th saw me land in one of the huge pot bunkers, and i took three to get out!

all in all a very enjoyable round.

A very good course for the beginner, the long par 5's require a good distance game. A drive of 300+ yards stil leaves a decent 2nd shot to the green. The 10th and 11th seem a bit crammed in but the 16th and 18th really improve the back 9.

This course is particularly difficult for those with a slice, although the fairways usually run two abreast anything to the right is punished very hard. Similarly several of the holes require you to have a quite a good distance game to reach greens in regulation. The course is well drained so playable most of the year without the need to resort to winter greens. In terms of technicality the first 9 are quite straightforward, with the 3rd, 8th and 9th being the best holes. The back 9 does give the impression of being squeezed in, with the 12th a right hand dog leg that requires a long shot over OOB. Whilst I've birdied the 13th (hit the pin from 120yds and dropped in - fluke) it is really the worst planned hole on the course. All the greens and fairways are well kept - but be warned this is a pay and play course and not all players have handicaps so they often play slow and don't call people through...

Overall though very good value for money.

High handicaper, played the course a few times. Can play quite long on a windy day but when calm, is the type of course where beginers wont get into too much trouble. Greens are always in good condition and challenging (the 10th green is evil!) Always enjoyed my rounds there.

high handicap player,played it only once,quite a few left dog-legged holes which did'nt help my slice.quite hilly front 9,open + flatish back 9.last hole a killer,par5 and up-hill,16th par3 on a plateau,looks somthing out of teletubby land.very challenging course with lots of O.O.B,greens very good,fairways good,hit 3 pars+lost 3 balls,scored a 97!!.would play it again
