Bushey Golf and Country Club Player Reports

An interesting concept, 9 holes but 18 tee's which does actualy work. The course is built into the side of a hill with the only flat areas the tees and greens. Mostly the ball is not only above or below your feet by several inches but facing up or down hill too.
The star hole is the 4th/13th which just begs you to take the driver out but excersise caution here as with most of the holes especialy the 11th and 12th, out of bounds is literaly inches away.
For a municipal course it is in excelent condition and well maintained. The pro shop is well equiped and worth browsing as some good bargins can be had here. The cafe is a little expensive but still a good choice.
The club has a thriving accadamy so don't be suprised to find a number of kids on the course but this is not a problem as they out perform most of the adults.
The only down side to the course is it's popularity. Be prepared to wait and don't expect to play through if your following a family. The putting green is for members only which can be a bit anoying but all in all a great course.
For the record I joined.

A tight and testing course, narrow fairways and small greens on a slopinge course. Plays into prevailing SW winds which make the 2nd, 7th 11th, 3rd,12th and 16th testing holes if the wind is strong. A good test of golf. Only criticism is the lack of good sand in the bunkers.
Clubhouse faciliies excellent -good range of reasonably priced food. Good pro shop and driving range.
