London Beach Golf Hotel Player Reports

I'm very suprised to read such a negative review of Tenterden's London Beach. I have enjoyed several rounds here and have always been rewarded with an entertaining day's golf amongst rolling hills in the heart of the Garden of England.
This course is far from "bland". Take for example the 1oth - a shortish Par 4, downhill from a plateau tee. The tiger's line is a confident 3 wood over one of the many pretty lakes - but with the friendly clubhouse's terrace overlooking the tee the wise man might well lay up a safe 7 iron just this side of the tree-lined pond which guards the green.
Bland? On the long dog-leg 3rd with skylarks and woodpeckers vying to distract you while you size up the ballsy second shot 6-iron over the lake and the oak trees onto the bunker-ringed green? Not in my book!
If your idea of a good day's golfing is a pleasant course set in beautiful surroundings, one which asks questions of the competent player without unduly punishing the novice - then London Beach cannot be recommended highly enough.

This is a very bland 9 hole course, slightly better than a pitch and putt, except the price for 18 holes is extortionate. There are a number of good courses around this area whose greenfees are far less for far better facilities. I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who is looking for challenging golf along with value for money. £25 per round on a nine hole course is just day light robery. Nine holes of very bland golf at a very high cost, I would certainly check out the alternatives in the area before turning up at this course. Very disappointing indeed.
