Carus Green Golf Club Player Reports
A Non (England) 13/10/06
In response to the last comments, a couple of things, firstly low handicappers will not destroy it, i have found the course gets more difficult as your handicap goes down because it can be very punishing, very risk-reward on the last 6 holes. Since Mr Morrisoe played the course the facilities have improved as the clubhouse now offers draft beer and full catering 5 days of the week, the club also has a new pro shop which is one of the biggest ive ever seen. And in response to his comment about lack of etiquitte, i think they must have been non-members also.

P Morrisroe (England) 13/07/05
Chose to play Carus green whilst on holiday in the lakes, their website looked impressive and so i booked a round early in july 05, Their course is very flat, quite forgiving, Average in length (5716yrds par 70, longest hole is a 510 par 5) and is fairly average in the challenge department, low handicappers will destroy it, mid handicappers will maybe enjoy it and high handicappers will love it. There are a couple of testing holes though, (the 7th called the 'blasted oak' comes to mind!). There is quite alot of water running round the course, though it only really comes into play on a few holes (the hardest being the 12th). I wasn't impressed with the club house, that needs to be improved drastically (not big enough and no DRAUGHT beers or soft drinks!) The driving range is excellant though, very new and has automated tee-up machines. One thing that really did put me off returning, was the lack of etiquette shown to me on the course by their members, now me playing on my own with the girlfriend driving a buggy doesn't entitle me to play through, i do understand that technically a single golfer doesn't have any real rights on a golf course, but to be stuck behind a senior 4 ball from the 4th tee onwards does, as 2 very pleasant senior lady members put it "Takes the Biscuit" and bless them they did say they'd complain on my behalf, sadly i didn't hang around to find out though, as waiting for the same senior 4 ball to order their drinks at the bar proved just too much!!
