Haven Pastures Golf Club Player Reports

Having played Haven Pastures a couple of time recently I must congratulate all concerned on the great improvements in both the course and clubhouse.
The fairways are a pleasure to play, wide and forgiving and the rough has been kept to a sensible length should you be as unfortunate enough to reach it.
The greens were in excellent condition and quite challenging requiring a good eye to read the breaks. This is a much improved course and is both picturesque and peaceful with some of the most beautiful of views.
It is a long course with each hole bringing its own unique challenge and before you know it you are headed up the 18th fairway towards another super challenging raised green and of course onward to the clubhouse.
The clubhouse is light and modern serving the usual beverages and good food and benefits from a large patio area looking out towards the 18th.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and keen to hear about the events of the day. What more can I say except.. Well done Haven Pastures!

We decided to play Haven Pastures as one of the venues for our societies 3 day break.Wot a fantastic suprise we got. From the moment we arrived we were made more than welcome from the down to earth staff, who couldnt do enough for us,which makes a refreshing change to all the snobby and stuck up clubs as you can actually relax and enjoy your day without upsetting people.
OK,the course,FANTASTIC,not saying im easily pleased, but every member of the society thought the course was excellent.Played front 9 in the morning which helped alot getting us ready for full 18 in the afternoon.Maybe 2-3 holes which were a touch hilly.Fairways and greens were a pleasure to play on with a lot of well laid out holes for the thinking golfer.
After the round, back to the clubhouse, which is very nice and modern, for food and drinks.
This has got to be a must for any golfer who wants a relaxed and great days golf....

I just thought I would write and let you know about Haven Pastures. I played some 2 years ago as many of you have and was a bit disappointed but could see that things were happening.
Sure has happended, the course is great and they have now changed the way of play which is exciting. Yes it is challenging but thats what golf is all about, if i wanted it easy there is plenty of courses around for that.
I am now a proud member of the course and its great. They have competitions going throughout the whole of the week and week ends. So what ever day if i want to join in i can. Which is great as i never no what days i can go and play.
They are all a real friendly bunch and very helpful. So if your reading this come for yourself.

I have been a junior at Haven Pastures for two years.
I find the course hard to walk because of the hilly landscape but this doesn't stop me playing my best.
I have found that hitting 3 woods off most of the tees is the best way to play the course because you stay out of trouble.
the greens have come on over the last 2 years. the 2nd and 8th greens are the most tricky because of the slopes
The staff at the golf club are very friendly and supportive.

I have now played over 400 different clubs in various parts of the country and abroad but would just like to say I had last week at Haven Pastures G.C. after being invited out for my 76th Birthday.
We had a superb days golf and even at my age, with my sights still set on driving a ball over 300 yards from the tee and managing just about a 10th of that at a time I found the course one of the most pleasant I have played.
There are some long holes, but I did find that they were evenly spaced out, the course well designed and in good condition. I did however need a buggy.
The first hole was one of the most difficult par 4's I can remember playing, then again the following 17 were just as interesting and hard. The scenery on several holes was Heavenly, and as I could soon be going there (Heaven) I must think of changing my clubs.
I was pleasantly surprised on our return to the clubhouse, which is a delightful place to sit outside for a drink, that a small party had been put on for me. The food was magnificent.
May I thanks the staff there for making this occasion such a delightful experience.
I'll be back.
