Played this course a couple of times, a few years ago and again in March this year, and in general it has matured into a very good course, plenty of water, fairways and greens were in excellent condition, although it is a short course it is by no means a easy course,a good test of golf with very friendly staff and members, worth a visit.

very nice short course, fairways and greens kept in very good condition for the time of the year. With the brand new clubhouse open it makes this course a good local game at a very reasonable price.

Having started playing golf at this course five months ago I've seen it change in my eyes from a place where no-one minds if you go round in 120, to a weekly challenge to stay in the 80s.
The course is fairly short, with just one par 5. However the course is laid out over two distinct 'altitudes', which means that the steep hills add both distance and a degree of trickiness to a round.
The majority of the holes are 300ish yard par fours, with bushes, ditches and ponds as the main hazards. Only one bunker on the whole course and you'll be VERY unlucky to find it.
A couple of potential short 'comedy' holes are redeemed by steep slopes and a water hazard - plus overhead powerlines which have come into play more than once!
Currently, young staked trees and free drops make the course challenging rather than difficult, but this will change hugely in the next few years.
As others have said, it's the friendliest course I have played at, both in terms of staff and members.
Thoroughly recommended.

You should play this course a.s.a.p. as it is changing week by week. At the moment it is ideal for the high handicaper with no bunkers and free drops from young trees. As features are added this course could become a gem. Our society had an excellent day. Although the clubhouse is under construction and at first the shed (clubhouse)and facilities look poor you are made so welcome by the staff that you could not ask for more. We look forward to playing the finished package.

The Epping golf course is one, if not the friendliest course I’ve had the pleasure to play on. It not just the staff but also fellow golfers who make you feel welcome.
It is a new club that seems to have big plans (lots of planting of trees around the course and building a new clubhouse).
I have played the course a number of times in different weather conditions and have always found it an interesting and challenging course to play on.
With it’s reasonable prices and friendly attitude I will be playing this course many more times in the future.

The Epping Golf Course is a lovley little course that seems to capture the very best aspects of the Essex countryside. It is very positive towards young golfers and has very cheap rates at all times of the year. Its a great course play it!
