I agree with all of the above cheep nasty smells and poor playing greens fairways and the tee's? if you can find them. Seems the money is going in the owner's pocket than being given back to the course for the up keep.
Seems some mouding has been done but the course now looks like a rubbish dump and 1 fairway is only maybe 5 meters wide from mound to mound. crazy
Many kids on the course and moterbikes also might get in the way as also fishermen around all lakes on the course.
Don't go in the bar as you might be sold some drugs as I was. I walked away and would never go back, worst £8 I have ever spent.

This course is quite simply the worst golf course in the world.
I'm not a golfing snob - I've played down the road at Barnehust, Cray Valley, Pedham Place which are all pay and play and offer a decent game.
You won't get that at Thamesmead.
First impressions were not good as the range closes at 6pm and the club bar is the first I have ever seen that warns of drugs not being tolerated on site.
The tees are littered with rubbish, the greens bare (and I mean soil!) mixed in with the odd patch of grass 6 inches long.
I played the first hole and thought 'maybe it will get better' then having taken my first shot on the second I noticed my approach was slightly hampered.
Yes, there on the 2nd green was a man lying prostrate with a four-pack (now consumed).
I took a deep-breath of sewage-filled air, picked my ball up, and walked away.

Riverside golf club is a flat and cheap course with driving range sandwiched between Cross-Ness and Thamesmead.
This single fact means that you are neighbours with South London's sewage farm. If you can cope with the smell, you'll be fine. If you do not like the smell of 1/2 of London's waste then go elsewhere!

i am new to the game of golf and i find the 5 pounds a game for evening tee off times, but be alert many kids play on this golf course.
