John Dalgreen (England) 10/02/08
We played the course on a sunday morning in early february, the weather was 100% perfect but 9 of the 18 greens were closed, although we had been advised that it was the first seven their seemed to be no reduction in fees.
The course is very mundane has it is far too open, the bunkers and small amount of water there is seem to be more ornamental than anything.
Hopefully with time the course will become more challenging has the young trees flourish and provide a slighly more closed feel to each hole.
Has a young course goes it is not the worst, but it is certainly not the best.

NEIL WATKINS (England) 29/10/07
Played the course on Saturday 27th Ocober with our society ( 28 members played.
Unusually didnt have breakfast or a meal after probably due to the tee time ( 12 noon first group ). The course played really well, was in excellent condition and a real challange, particularly on the greens. The course just " feels " right with a good varity of holes, not overly long but greens were extremely difficult to get your ball to hold. General views from society was book it for next year. Well worth the visit
Note only scored average on general facilities as didnt really use the facilities available

I organised our village cricket clubs annual golf day at Woolley Park last friday and it was an excellent day. The golf on the hole was very good,we posted some excellent scoring (45 pts playing off 15 won) The staff were exeptionally helpful. We had bacon rolls and coffee, 18 holes of golf on a very well kept course followed by a very edible steak and ale pie and delicious pudding. All this for Thirty pounds.
Our thanks once again to all the staff and members for allowing us to use your course.

We played Woolley Park end of June 2007 with our society and was very impressed with the course, facilities and warm welcome. The course was in very good condition, a very interesting course with a variety of challenging holes epsecially the first having to carry over water which adds to the nerves. Overall the fairways are forgiving and the greens are challenging. I would definatley recommend this course and would rebook a society day. The club house is unusually small but it works, and the friendly welcome made the it a superb day.

Great facilities here; driving range, large putting green and modern Clubhouse. A very reasonable visitors green fee of £19. Course in good nick with fast undulating greens which were a real test of my putting (I failed).
The failing of the course though is in the design. The front 9 consists of far too many short dog-legs although things improve at 8 and 9,a long uphill par 4 followed by a downhill par 5 with a double green. On the back 9 its like Groundhog day as virtually every hole is a par 4 measuring between 380 and 410 yards. Green contouring feels contrived, bunkering seems random and seldom in play and on most par 3's you play upslope to a green you cannot see.
Admittedly for the green fee its good value for a private club and I suppose you get what you expect from a relatively young modern course.
Uninspiring.

I have played Wooley Park quite recently and the improvement from 2005 to 2006 is simply outstanding.
If you have played it in recent years then the change will be noticable has in the current ground staff really care how it looks, and how it plays, a absolute pleasure!
Very friendly you wont be dissapointed
