As stated below, the course is ALWAYS in superb shape. Been here the day after some real downpours and the greens are still open and the course is relatively dry. I have no idea how they manage to do this!

Weald (longer course) is the pick of the two for me. Yes, it's not the greatest challenge and doesn't seem to have much in the way of rough and bunkers are easily avoided, but it's great fun with a bunch of pals and builds confidence for the high handicapper. Favourite hole is the 5th (515 yards, par 5). Brook at the halfway point, oak tree in the middle of the hole and a lake on the right side of the fairway. Pretty tricky!

Also, unlike others, I'd say this place is good value for money. Around £20 for 18 holes on a course that's this well maintained is a bargain. Weekends are busy, but then aren't most courses in the summer months?

very nice course, unfortunately only 9 holes with a par 3 9 aswell, friendly staff, have played on saturdays and sundays and a steady flow of people but not majorly busy,and you are given priority when you go back to play your second 9 (if doing so).a very well maintained course.

An absolutely EXCELLENT 9 hole course. The Tees are superb (even in winter) the greens are even better (AND IN WINTER !!!) Staff are fantasticaly (right spelling?) helpful.

Two courses both 9 holes. VALLEY is the par 3 and WEALD is the "big course" It isn't cheap for a 9 hole course and if you play 18 it is probably even less value --- BUT ---- I said the staff were helpful - if you go for 18 on the Weald they offer you the day ticket at £15! (Weekdays only) so you can play from dawn till dusk (if your swing is up to it !!)

The fairways are narrow (ish) but there are not many hazards (save a few bushes and trees and the odd bit of water) with not much deep rough. The fairways and greens are very well looked after.

This is a good confidence building course for the beginner / high handicapper - I SHOULD KNOW !!!! Started on 136 now getting regularly around and below 100 - look out Tiger !

Give it a go if you are in the area

You can turn up and play from the minute the gates are open - if the clubhouse is closed just pay at the end - but please be honest !

BEWARE - DON'T GO AT WEEKENDS! IT GETS VERY BUSY AND THE MORE PEOPLE I PUT OF THE BETER CHANCE I HAVEOF PLAYING !!

Agree with most of the comments below. A good 9 hole course and a par 3 course which I actually prefer. If the course isn't too busy we like to start on the par 3 and then progress to the longer course. However this isn't always possible at weekends as the course is very very busy. As the bloke below suggests its better to get there early at the weekend and pay after you have finished your round. I would add that if you do that, play the longer 9 first followed by the par 3 because if you do it the other way round you will almost certainly have a very big queue to join for the longer 9. The main downer is because it does get so busy, you sometimes have to put up with impatient golfers behind you even though you yourself are being held up. I've experienced people hitting there shots to the green just as you've holed out and just off the green! Great ettiquette lads! Good points are that its a good course if you are struggling with your game and its ideal for beginners and improvers. Favourite hole on the long 9 is the par 3 third. Downhill about 160 yards from memory with a pond to the left of the green. As I'm not a big hitter usually a five or six iron for me. On the whole recommended as long as you play off peak.

This is a smashing little pay-and-play 9 hole course which is kept in fabulous condition all year round. Indeed it is in such good condition it puts a lot of private courses to shame especially considering the amount of golfers who use it! It's not that cheap for a nine hole and is fairly easy but is a fun course none-the-less. There is a nice little par 3 course as well with some good holes and the whole complex is great for learning the game or for a quick knock-about. One thing to note is the place gets very busy at weekends in the morning but you can get there really early and tee off before the clubhouse opens and pay when you get back.
