Played on Saturday morning after a long dry run of late. The course is very steep and if we could have had a buggie then it would have been a lot easier on the calves! I think the first hole is the best, a nice par 3 over a small pond which happy to get a par on after a slightly wayward 7 iron from the tee! The main good point is the downhill drives offering a great chance to Birdie with a solid drive.

I would recommend this course during summer as I can imagine it getting soggy when having poor weather. Also the golf club doesn't open till 8:30am and as I prefer to play early this is a pain as it is suddenly a mass scramble for each hole and constant waits would be at each tee due to the steepness of the course (especially the 6th).

I hit a 300 yard drive only to lose 50 yards in backward roll, never been so glad to roll onto the rough before in my life!

Mytton Fold is one of the worst examples of a course simply being built to accomodate being attached to a hotel you will ever find.

As a rule of thumb, unless you've had a long run of dry weather, it will be wet through. It doesn't drain at all from what I've seen and quickly deteriorates to a muddy mess.

No thought whatsoever has been put into the design of the course. A 10 year old would probably design a better golf course. I've played on more interesting pitch and putts. You will quickly realise you are playing boring, monotonous golf as you go up and down the course in parallel lines. The exception to the rule is the 6th hole which takes you up the hill in such a steep climb it is ridiculous. You then realise it is simply thrown in to get you to the top of the course where, you guessed it, you start playing in parallel lines again.

The greens are rarely up to much, the tee beds are a muddy, uneven joke and the fairways - well they all basically merge into one big fairway anyway so it doesn't really matter.

An awful, awful place to play golf. Keep your money in your pocket.

just played the course today, a bit wet and tiring on the legs as no buggies available, still it was in a good condition. though i didnt play well at all. looking forward to playing it in the dryer summer season, as the greens are on a par as being some of the best in the area.

I have recently played and enjoyed a round of golf at Mytton Fold. I particularly enjoyed the magnificent views that you could see from some of the holes. Some holes are very challenging and require a lot of effort to score points on. This course is not for people who do not like walking uphill and so for them, a buddie would be needed. The greens and fairways are kept in terrific order and the course is layed out beautifully. The members and the professionals make you feel very welcome and make your round of golf very enjoyble. The golf club also serves excellent food which you are unable to fault.

Played this course during the last weekend in November to find it unsurprisingly wet. However, the course would have impressed me more if they had tried to protect the tees. Most had turned into a muddy mess and made firm footing impossible. The course is fairly hilly and plays longer than its yards, particularly the uphill holes. Its always disheartening to see a good drive lose all momentum when it lands on an uphill fairway. A sound round of golf but nothing spectacular.
