You get a bit of everything here; starts a bit like woburn with tight'ish but fair tee shots, then at the 8th you set out on a few holes by the dunes where the fairways widen to give some respite to those who feel hemmed in by not being able to slash it anywhere they like! Towards the conclusion of your round Belle Dune goes a tad parklandesque. The mix of holes is ideal as they provide a complete experience; lower handicappers should play from the back tees to get the most from their visit. Throughout the round you are required to think about your tee shots and approaches as the greens provide rewards and punishments in accordingingly. Its good to play somewhere where feel and strategy are valued above whacking it around like a goriila on steroids. the setting is wonderful; the staff are polite and helpful.

Played as part of a mini tour in Sept 07. This is a wonderful golf course. Beautifully designed to be challenging, but not too long. It has links, forest and every kind of nuance you could wish for. Built by a nature reserve this course had it been in England would be charging 75 a round. I cannot wait to return as this is one of the best courses for both golf and environment I have ever encountered. Highly recommended. Just hope they dont weaken and start building holiday homes all round the course.

This is a wonderful course with challenging holes all the way. I've played there many times and never tire of it.

Even the 18th is a tight long par 4 with the lake on the right.

A must.

Simply Stunning! Before playing Belle Dune I never thought I would play anywhere to match the Old Course at Ballybunion but this comes very close. Why its not ranked as one of the worlds great courses I just don't know. It contains a mixture of wonderful holes weaving through a pine forest, majestic holes through the Dunes and then finishes off with some classic parkland. Its tight in places, in perfect condition and the greens are undualting. Each hole is isolated as the course covers enough acerage to build 4 courses in the UK. It is also very beautiful and a quite unique setting. I can't wait to return.

One of the best courses i have ever played , so much so that i have put the details on here. First class condition all round with lush fairways and lightning quick greens. The par 3 3rd stands out due to the trees and aiming down to the green , just awesome. We are already planning to return in October for 2 rounds.

You can also hire a electric trolley for £10.

Tight drives, firm greens and stunning layout, are some of the reasons we have visited this course for a number of years on our annual trip to Le Touquet. Accuracy off the tee is more important than length and some amazing par three's where getting the right club can save a couple of shots a hole.

Worth visiting more than once as from some of the tees the greens are completely blind. Don't forget to buy a course guide first!

Belle Dune is a monster of a course if this was laid out in Ireland instead of Pas de Calais it would surely be considered in the world top 100 courses.

The layout is wonderful making you feel that you are the only group on the course; Accuracy both off the tee but into the greens is essential. The greens undulate and are receptive but so fast, at times making you feel silly trying to complete simple putts. Go and try it.

I'm not normally one to write reviews of golf courses, but having recently played Belle Dune as part of 20 touring players this course went to the top of not only mine but half a dozen others as the best course we have ever played. Each hole is unique in its own setting, apart from one hole, you never see another fairway. Not an easy course to play but accurate shots are rewarded. Even if you have not had a particularly good round you come away feeling that you been treated to something special. A must to play if you are in the area.

This was one of three courses we played over a weekend in September 06. Fairways and greens were in great condition. It's a real test of golf and luckily the club house isn't too far away from the 18th hole.

It was nice to have a round where we weren't waiting on the tees due to slow play.

One of our favourites.

A group of 20 of us played the course on Friday 6/10/06. The weather was atrocious and spoiled what is a fantastic course. The real downside to this venue is the clubhouse which closed as we finished our round at 19.45 and left us soaking wet and without a beer or food and more importantly without prior notice.

This course was excellent!!

This was the first of four courses played and it was the highlight. This was a good test of golf and also your patience. The course was in immaculate condition with testing but enjoyable holes. The variation between the holes was great,and although there are some long walks between some of the tees it does not spoil the round as the scenery is stunning.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone visiting the area.

Absolutely fantastic course.

I've played here twice now and cannot fault the course. Admittedly, it's tough. Very tough. But what a tremendous challenge. The greens are superb - fast and undulating, the fairways are in great condition and the holes themselves are generally very demanding.

The first four holes are tree-lined and a relatively relaxing start, however, by the 5th you start to encounter the dunes on the side of the fairway. The 8th sees you teeing off into the prevailing wind, second shot will be 200 yards plus to an elevated green. The 9th is a short par 4 but again into the wind requires a solid drive. And, so it continues until the 15th sees the start of a more parkland-style finish.

Possibly, the course can only be enjoyed by mid/low handicappers but I reckon in the UK you'd be looking at £100 per round to play course of similar quality.

Clubhouse is small but food is excellent.

I wish this was my home course.

Have just returned from three days of torture at Belle Dune. They kindly allowed us to play from the white tees and the course was just too stiff a test, and in our group handicaps ranged from 3 to 12. Incredibly tight in places, almost to an extent where it became unfair. The greens were very fast and had serious undulations to boot. An unrelenting test of golf that never for one shot, or putt, lays off. La Mer at La Touquet was light relief after this monster.

This is THE course in Northern France,totally totally fantastic,each hole is different and even if there was anyone else playing you would never see them.

One small downside is small clubhouse and even smaller changing rooms,also note the course is closed one day a week for nature conservation,which in France means shooting anything that moves...still go and play it

Played the course on Monday (04/10) with a bunch of 10 others for the 2nd time this year. This has to be one of the most well designed, yet natural links courses in Europe. Each hole is a beaut and rarely do see another hole from any fairway! The par-4 5th is a cracker and yet it's the short par-4 12th that I think stands out. Take your drivers out with caution on some of these holes! Yet, with a true spread of handicaps, we all managed to play the course reasonably well and totally enjoyed our return. In those immortal words; 'we'll be back....'!!

Played Belle Dune on 25/10/03 and it was outstanding. A really interesting mix of holes through the forest area and out in the dunes, all with their own character. Greens were very slick, but also receptive to a well struck shot.

One of the best courses I've played, and very good value for money too.

Visually stunning in the dunes.

The par 3's are tiny but so wind affected.

Tactically very difficult with the wind in the dunes.
