Golf d'Hardelot 'Les Dunes' Player Reports
Derek Haigh (England) 31/08/06
We four brave golfers regulary play both the Dunes and Pines around mid May and what brings me to think that the Dunes is the better of the two, is the simple personal challange of loosing fewer golf balls. Saying that all four of us have never had a bad experience. Excellant all round would recomnd to all golfers.

Really enjoyed this course.
Its very undulating and a buggie is essential if you intend to play a second round over at Les Pins on the same day.
Some excellent holes with good variation. It was presented in immaculate condition with fairways and greens fantastic. A good test for golfers of all handicaps.
I would play this course again on any future visit.

Like its neighbour, Les Pins, this is an excellent course although of the two I definitely think Les Pins is the superior due to Les Dunes having several slightly contrived short par-4s. Despite that I still think a great deal of the course.
As with Les Pins the course is in excellent condition. Might be worth considering a buggy as layout is pretty undulating. Not that many dunes on the course though!
Disappointingly, for a French course the food and service in the clubhouse was very mediocre.

Played in summer 04
Found it to be a very testing course with alot of drives up hill and down dale. Doglegs galore. Greens were in excellent condition, definitely a course for people who can hit straight. Alot of reloading!!!
Stayed at Le Touquet- great base for golf holidays to the area

Played in sunshine in November course in fine nick. This course rewards acurracy and course management. Trouble occurs not just of the tee but all the way to the hole take chanches and you either be rewarded or cost a shot all in all highly recommended and a pleasure to play.

Played both Hardelot courses over the weekend and agree that this is the better of the 2. More undulating than Les Pins which offers fantastic views down the fairways to the greens (the 18th is just a beautiful finishing hole.) For the time of year that we played (end of October) the course was generally in good condition, with both the fairways and greens in good nick. The tees were however not up to the standard of the rest of the course, both in their condition or general appearance.
A quick review for Les Pins:
Very similar to Les Dunes but flatter in places and a few more blind drives. The club needs to be careful that the course does not get over played as in places in was looking a little worn (tees and greens.) Car Park was 80% full of British cars and very busy (Round took 4 3/4 hours). Changing rooms were okay but bar area was small and a little dated, one at Les Dunes is much better. Les Pins is still a great course but if I had to pick out of the 2 I would go for the Dunes.
