I have just come back from 2 days playing in the Poitou Charentes Cup at Royan. It was my first time there and overall I was very impressed with the course. The front and back nine are quite different and I would endorse most of the comments previously written here. One bum note is the awful 13th. Its a hole which punished good shots time after time and this was from my fellow competitors as well as me. All of us play of 0 to 5 so it wasnt as we were duffers.

18th is a wonderful finishing hole right in front of the clubhouse gallery. Fine course, despite the 13th and well worth the green fee - if you have to pay it :-)

just got back,played in august 06,course is a must if you are in the area.the cousre played quite long as most evennings there were heavy showers.every hole is tree lined so leave the driver in the boot,greens were very receptive and were a joy to putt on.notable holes 5 @ 12,i had a great day and played to 4.

A very good golf course with some extremely testing holes. The course is undulating in places but this all adds to the appeal it provides, asking you to create shots from varied lies and to raised greens or greens below you. The course opens with a good par 4 and the 5th is another great downhill driving hole. The 10th is a very tricky narrow Par 5 but without a doubt I felt the 12th was a superb dog-leg Par 4. You must hit your drawn drive far enough to see the green and you then play across a dip to a tightly protected green; superb! If you struggle with your driving then you may struggle to score well here but overall the greens were excellent but the fairways were just starting to show a little wear & tear. The clubhouse offered a very good welcome and the food is excellent. A great days golf for 46 Euros.

I played this course in June 2005 and found it to be one of the best courses I've ever played on.

Not overly long but very demanding. Beautifully maintaine fairways and greens, very undulating and tight fairways but very fair

43 euros for a day ticket which is very good.

Overall 9 1/2 out of 10.

Excellent course. Very similar to the top Berkshire courses, yet for a third of the price! 40 Euros for a day ticket in June 2004.

Every hole is a test and greens are fast and smooth. Fairways a lush and give a prefect lie every time. Not overly long but need to be accurate off the tee. An absolute pleasure to play and would recommend to anyone and everyone who appreciates a top golf course.

Superb - an absolute must. Extremely tight and very beautiful course, and in excellent condition. Most enjoyable, even if tiring !
