Played here middle of May 2004. Initially thought the course and hotel complex a little shabby, but this was because of remedial work at the Hotel. The course became easier on the eye having played it a couple of times. Some cross over fairways and on acouple of holes you are firing over the previous green, very dangerous and not conducive to speedy play as you are looking to see where the next missile is coming from. A colleague was actually hit by a wayward shot! Some pretty holes but there are better courses for similar prices around, but I did enjoy playing here, thanks Fernhill, and the bar staff in the clubhouse were great, no bar in the hotel but only a 5 minute walk involved unless you have a couple over the eight then it could take 25 if you take the wrong driveway! Green very undulating and slick. The rough was just a tad too long and balls could be lost if you strayed off the cut stuff, so play a provisional and save a long walk back or better still, hit the short stuff.
