Played on a wonderful benign day, with the Irish sea like a mill pond. From the time we arrived to the time we left we had a wonderful day. The course is undulating with some quite stiff climbs between greens and tees. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were nigh on perfect, fast without being ridiculous. Some excellent score returned by our group proves that this course is emminently playable by a group of middle to highish handicappers, all suffering from a lack of fitness. Mind we were tired after 36 holes but I must say it was worth it.
The views from all parts of the course are great and the variety of hole kept this lovely course interesting. The whole day was rounded off with a lovely meal in a beautiful club house. If you have only 1 day in the area and only 1 course to play I commend Wicklow to you. I will return.

Played this course on the opening day of a mini-tour of the area, sadly spoiled by the wet weather. I'd agree completely with the 2006 comments below about the course. It is well worth a visit, but I must add that it is also one of the most hilly golf courses I have ever played. My knees still ache from the walk 10 days on. Off course, the clubhouse is fantastic, like so many in the area.

My in-laws live locally so have been playing on and off for years. Great course with outstanding views, quite quirky in places and with many memorable holes. A mixture of links (mainly front 9 along the cliffs) and parkland, the par 3s in particular are as good as you'll find anywhere.
Considering it never gets a mention on most write ups on the area, it is a genuine hidden treasure and excellent value.

We played this on recommendation, and were delighted. Splendid cliff-top views, with the sea crashing around you. Some very inventive holes, particuarly par 3s and 5s. Lovely panoramas of the whole course.

A great course, in excellent condition. The yomps between holes are offset by the superb views. Some testing holes on both front and back nines.

I first saw this course in 1986 and returned 5 years later to play it - it is a magical splendid course! Challanging, beautiful - and I hope to visit it again this year.
