This is a really nice course, not too difficult but still a good test of golf. When we played there in early May the greens were good and generally the course was in good nick. Best hole I'd say is the par 5 8th where you need to drive over the corner of the wall for a chance of getting the green in 2. Don't do as we did and go down the middle or you'll run out of fairway and be blocked out for the 2nd shot. Very nice clubhouse too. Definitely worth a visit.

I echo the sentiments above. I played the course as a single and had quite a time getting around. That being said, this is a very nice "parkland" type track, and has hosted past Irish Opens. Several greens and bunkers were rebuilt in 1999-2000. A pleasant place to play with fairly wide fairways and mature trees.

Ougterard makes for a really pleasant day of golf.
Situated in one Connemara's most delightful villages, it has a nice variety of holes to suit the better player and novice alike. My one criticism, and I must say that it was one that I found very irritating, was that there were many times when I had not the slightest idea where the next tee was! Surely the numbering of tees with relevant yardage and direction to the next tee is not a huge expense? That aside, a very enjoyable days golf indeed.
