Dromoland Castle Player Reports
Paul Green (England) 11/09/07
Cant understand why no report on this place,it is a great golf course and pleasant place to stay also.
The couse itself is tough parkland in the main with a mixture of long and short holes to test and tantalise,so where you have a possibilty of driving one green on a par 4 the next hole is long and may have a huge carry, the finishing Par 5 is incredibly tough with a long carry over swamp then you have to thread your way past a huge tree in the fairway to the smallest of greens guarded by a lake,a real card wrecker.
The clubhouse is quite small but friendly and the food served was of top class quality, just try the sirloin steak(I didnt but a friend did)it was the best looking piece of meat I have ever seen, the garden at the rear is right by the castle and a brilliant place to chill out.
You would be better using a buggy as it is quite hilly in places and bring plenty of balls
