Cream of the Irish cream re golf courses!
Now, we played this monster on a calm, sunny day in July but it's length and brilliant design still protected it.
From the moment you arrive, it smacks of class!
Baltray (aka County Louth) host of the Irish Open in 2004 is at the very top of the table for me and I've played many of the Championship Links courses in Ireland.
6,600 yards of sheer pleasure with the best set of Par 3's I've seen. All the Par 3's were different lengths and all reachable by a 'good shot' by any of standard golfer.
The star holes are the 2nd, 15th, 16th and 18th for me but we all agreed to differ on this (it was a personal choice) - that's how good the course was.
The club house was friendly and the food was great & cheap - so was the black stuff!
At 110 euros it may be a little pricey but fitted into a golfing week where we played cheaper courses.... it therefore made for a special and memorable occasion.
10/10 from us Yorkshire boys!
