After playing Kilkeel in August 2006 for around £15 including a great plate of fish and chips afterwards,I'd agree that this a top value golf course. You need to think your way around and sometimes leave the driver in the bag as there are plenty of trees. The par threes stick in my memory, especially the last one (the 15th?) where you don't want to be above the hole. The greens were in lovely condition and the welcome friendly. The clubhouse facilities are excellent too. It's in a lovely part of the world, so you get the added bonus of great scenery if your game isn't on top form.

Set at the foot of the famous Mountains of Mourne this beauty is well worth a visit. Tricky par threes coupled with testing 2nd shots make this an excellent test of golf at very reasonable prices. Sporting a superb new clubhouse make sure Kilkeel Golf Club is at the top of you 'must play soon' list.

A hidden gem. Played it in July, 2002, just prior to the course hosting a qualifying round for British Senior Open. Scenic and well maintained. A relief from the greens fees charged at the "name" courses. Very welcoming and friendly staff and members. Tight, hilly and challenging. Wide variety of holes. Fazio feel on some holes with elevated tees, forgiving landing areas but demanding second shots. Redesign by Eddie Hackett, top name in Ireland, recently deceased. Also worked on Old Head. Had three Guinesses all bought by members!!! Highly recommended.
