Another good "challenge" in the Lisbon area. Having read one of the previous contributors comments about "26 points" I put it down to "one of those days". Now I know what he means, and we played it on a still day !!
As with all the other courses we played, in excellent condition with good clubhouse facilities. Don't miss
Michael O'hara (Ireland) 25/05/04
Played this course for the second time in April 2004, on a windy day, and for the first time in my life, the course 'broke' me.
It was an absolute slog, the winning score from 17 of us, was a score of 26 points, whereby it took 36+ points to win any other day.
Beautiful course, but if the wind blows....so tough, and bring plenty golf balls, off the fairway = bye bye golf ball.

Belas presents a hilly "linksie" feel. It is well established, fairways are brilliant, and the greens are “slopey” and fast, and you don’t want to be chipping downhill. Not all tee shots are drivers, not to say that the course is short, more that it requires more strategy than most, taking into account the prevailing wind. The clubhouse facilities are excellent, and there are several memorable holes. Pluses: Established heathland course. Minuses: Beginning to show signs of building work. Conclusion: Recommend.

Wonderful place. Very difficult and though holes. Very good facilities. Very nice landscape.(need cart).

Nice course, even though parts were very wet. Very hilly with some long walks between green & next tee. Good facilities (I got my muddy shoes cleaned & polished for free) and good food. Worth a visit - especially if you like US-style courses.

Belas was the most difficult course I have ever played. The wind made club selection paramount. It is a picturesque course with plenty of trouble everywhere you look. Course was in good nick and the clubhouse is superb. Ensure that you take a cart.
