I thought Craigielaw is a well laid out course with excellent facilities and a friendly atmosphere...BUT!! The condition of the course left a lot to be desired and suprisingly they were holding the Scottish Ameteur Championships there the day after i played. I know links golf should be firm and fast, but Craigielaw on the day i played it was TOO HARD! I fould it impossible to stop a well struck ball on a single green, even playing from the fairway with a Pro V1. To really enjoy the course in those conditions would require a 'Harry Houdini' short game!

This course is AMAZING!! From the second our golf party arrived all the staff couldn't do enough for us! The clubhouse is a new building and has excellent facilities! We had a full English breakfast which was delicious and the service was 1st class. The course is young but still gives a good test! The bunkers are well placed, the greens can be tricky and some of your tee shots need to be well placed, especially when there is a strong breeze! I loved the entire day at Craigielaw and will definatly be returning in the very near future! I cant recommend it enough!!!!!!!

What a course. Brilliant nclubhouse an the staff from my initial call to book to us arriving was by far the friendliest course i have ever dealt with. The course is very good despite its young age. Well placed bunkers make it a good test which is even harder when the wind gets up. A must play if in the area and one my group will certainly be returning to play in the future.

My friends & I have played most of the courses on the West Coast of Scotland. This rates among the top 30. Elevated fast greens coupled with an offshore wind make it good test of Golf. Very welcomming staff, combined with good food at reasonable prices.

I played this course in 2003 before the clubhouse was finished. I liked the course except for the fact that two holes (10 & 11) play through houses. We have enough of that in the States that it put me off. Otherwise, it was a fine round in lovely, breezy weather.

Played the Craigielaw Open on Sun.20th June 2004 and was very fortunate to have a lovely, relatively calm afternoon for playing golf. Scores would soar if the wind was up. Some of the fast links greens were not the biggest so
stray approach play tends to get punished by strategically placed greenside bunkers. Tall, wispy rough borders most fairways but is not too penal. You would be hard pushed to know that this is such a new golfing venue. The views across the Firth of Forth to Fife are simply stunning. The clubhouse is ultra modern, pity there was no evening meal available for hungry golfers like me who had a one and a half hour trek back to Glasgow before getting fed.
Nonetheless, a really good addition to links courses on offer in an area where you are already spoiled for choice.
