Auchterderran is a nine hole public course opened in 1904. The course is undulating parkland/heathland in nature with generally narrow fairways.

Auchterderran is not a long course, but requires accuracy to keep out of trouble in the thick gorse found throughout the course.

The small greens are in very good condition.

On a dry and windy day, the greens can be hard to hit and stay on.
