The Bishopbriggs Golf Club Player Reports
Tom Ryan (Scotland) 04/10/06
As a member of the course i can offer the following thoughts to potential visitors. It is a parkland course which is relatively long in comparison to other local courses. It begins with an excellent dogleg par 4 followed by a par 3 which requires the correct club selection as the green is protected by bunkers left and right and a burn at the front of the green. The other feature hole on the front 9 is the par 4 7th another shortish dogleg which requires thoughtful club selection off the tee. This green is raised on both sides so any wayward shot into the green can be punished with bunkers left and right and rough lurking through the back.
The back nine has 3 new holes to contend which makes the last 7 holes quite a test of golf with an excellent mixture of holes.
Im sure visitors would enjoy the challenge.
The clubhouse has two good size bars and the food is good without being great. One possible gripe would be that changing facilities for visitors are not particularly great though there are showers available for the occasional hot in day in Scotland!!!

Played several times this year.
The front has some interesting holes undulating over and round undulating ground with a burn coming into play on several. The back nine is flat but again contains some testing holes requiring both the correct shape of shot and distance.
Definatly worth a visit.
