A 9 hole course which left us with many fond memories.

We had the fortune of playing Bonar on a beautiful day in March, and had the course completely to ourselves.

The first is a fairly straightforward, quite plain par 4, which leads you to a string of holes set in wonderful surroundings.

The second plays downhill to a green protected by a natural stream to the front. The par 3 third is a stunner, with the loch behind it. The fourth and fifth similarly skirt the water, bringing you to the challenging dog leg par 5, which had a herd of deer in the middle of the fairway on our arrival at the tee.

The par 4 seventh, with its "undulating green(!)" is sandwiched between two par 3s which require accurate tee shots, bringing you to the 9th, a pleasant hole taking you back to the Clubhouse.

We saw one gentleman whilst we were there, dressed in plus fours and extremely pleasant, who made us feel very welcome.

Many are put off playing this type of course simply because they are "only a 9 holer", but this is a course well worth a visit, and one which I will re-visit in the future without hesitation.

A truly beautiful 9 hole course. Basically 1 long uphill dog-leg par 5, several shortish par 4's and some tricky par 3's make up the course. Every hole is tree lined so this is not a course for big hitting but was well worth it for the tranquility and beauty.

Wonderful nine holes overlooking Loch Migdale ten miles from Dornoch. Perfect for beginner and average golfer and non-ego inflated low handicapper. Quiet leisurely stroll through forest with holes that demand skill and are fun. When we first went there the starter wore a tweed plus 4 suit which added to the pleasant atmosphere. Golf here is fast and challenging. Hot soup and tea to end a round of goff which is a pleasure and not a penance. Good condition.
