As an ex-member of the club I have to recommend it to everyone.
The course can vary greatly in difficulty depending on weather (particularly wind). Parts are very exposed and almost links like. 1 real par 5 on yellow tees, but 2 or 3 very interesting par 3's. There are 2 or 3 blind tee shots where it is worth having a go (15th is a drivable par 4).
The views across the river Forth to Edinburgh are amazing.

Played Burntisland on Sunday 3rd June as the last round of a 5 course trip in the area. Used First in Fife tickets (5 rounds for £95 supplements included). Thought this was the best we played as the greens were fast and true, plenty of interesting holes annd the views from the higher parts of the course were amazing. On top of this the Pro was friendly and helpful, and the food and refreshments were great. Has to be said its a course that needs playing again as there are one or two blind holes, something I will definitely be doing next time I am up in Fife

I played this course very recently in a trip to Scotland, playing several courses, and this turned out to be a great surprise.
It may look timid at 5950 yards off the back tees, but there are some fantastic holes round this course. Notables are the 7th, a wonderful uphill short par 4 with a severely sloping green, the 10th, a severely downhill par 4, the 17th, a terrific short par 3 - if you miss the green left, you are in a deep bunker, and right is like an abyss.
The course definitely needs to be played once before you know where you are going and how to play the course as there are some blind holes.
Playing off a 2 handicap, I found the course very challenging, and managed to shoot a 3 under 67 in my second round.
The pro was very welcoming and accomodating with the food being excellent.
Basically if you are in the area, PLAY THIS COURSE, it is worth the money!

Very nice little course, friendly staff, and a pretty fast round if you are a little pushed for time.
Quite hilly with several blind tee shots and surprisingly tricky greens. Well conditioned and true. Fairly deep bunkers (compared to what I am used to in Canada!). Quite wide open so you can get away with a slice sometimes. Particularly loved the tenth hole with blind tee shot and wicked roll onto the green at the bottom of a very steep 100' hill.
Great views when the weather permits.
Highly recommended, and fairly priced.

Excellent day out for those travelling from the Central Belt (of \r\nScotland that is). Elie has the usual landscape of a links course\r\nbut if you catch it on a good day, the scenery just after the turn\r\nis awesome. Our tee shots on the tenth were greeted with hoots of \r\nderision from the group of sunbathing seals just off the beach.
Round off your day with a fish supper from the chippie in Pittenweem\r\nand you have the recipe for the perfect day's golf.

My favourite course in Scotland.\r\nThe first course I played in Scotland and I always play it when I'm\r\nin Scotland. The course is quite easy in good weather and a monster\r\nin wind and rain and you have to play in both conditions or you have\r\nnot played at all. The little town, the kindly people and the nice \r\nathmosphere have made me to a scotsmen.\r\nThank You ELIE !\r\n

Don't miss this one if your are in the St. Andrews area. From the blind first tee shot (the starter has a periscope) through a really remarkable stretch of holes around the turn this is both entertaining and challenging links golf. The fairways are marvelously rumpled and the holes are quite varied depsite the unusual mix (16 par fours and two par threes)
