Carnwath Golf Club Player Reports

Carnwath is an excellent course and although it's not a long course there are still a few really tough par 3's where you need to use the Driver and a couple long par 4's (17 and 18 especially). When I played in early April the course was in really good condition and I would definitely play it again.
F Blackwood (Scotland) 01/10/02
I played Carnwath for the first time only the other day but I know it wont be the last. A very enjoyable layout although rather hilly but the condition of the course from tee to green was tremendous especially after the summer we have had in scotland. In terms of value for money this delightful little course cannot be beaten and the hospitality was excellent. A fairly short course in yardage but with a couple of score wrecking par 3's at over 230 yards it makes it enjoyable for all levels of golfer.

Excellent course throughout. Well worth a visit. Friendly members. Well presented greens although tiny and difficult to hit.
Was a very pleasant round and experience in general.Would go back.

Carnwath is a not too long but tricky parkland course. An ideal length for outings it is renowned for its catering provided by John and Elizabeth Mitchell. Prior to becoming Club Steward John was and still is a long standing club member so he knows what golfers need and want by way of refreshments and meals.
Although the course is under 6000 yards long, 3 of its 4 par threes are in the first 4 holes so it is important to be swinging well from the start of the round. As the round progresses several roads and railway lines means that accuracy is also important.
The greens while not huge are well looked after. I would encourage anyone living within reasonable travelling distance to give Carnwath a go. They are certain to be well looked after!
