I find the comments from Mr Snelman quite strange.
I am a member at Eyemouth and find the course is up to a tremendous standard all of the year.
The fairways have recently been sprayed for weeds and as the plant needs time to take the chemical in the fairways weren't cut for one week. Although i would not think this would take away from the enjoyment of the round.
The greens are of a good standard even considering the cold winds off the sea we have endured over the last three or four weeks and the lack of growth.
The comments from other visitors are of nothing but enjoyment of one of the best presented courses in the Borders with outstanding views.
Please do come and see that these comments are incorrect.
Phil Snelman (England) 19/05/08
I'm sorry to report that the greens and fairways were quite poor. At £35 for the round this did not represent good value.
There are one or two outstanding holes but by and large our Eyemouth experience was disappointing and did not represent good value.

Played the course on a lovely still and sunny morning, probably the easiest conditions you'll get here. I can imagine it being a much tougher test on a windy day.
The course was in excellent condition with some great holes and views along the coast, the highlights being the par 3 fith hole over the cliffs (pretty long too off the back tees!) and the sixth hole playing into the green on the cliff edge. The back 9 returns inland but the holes still having a links look and feel to them. The greens were very good, running true and fairly fast.
Excellent culbhouse with spectacular views over the course and coastline from the upstairs glass-fronted bar/resturant.
Definately worth playing when along the east coast.

Just played this course (Saturday 17 March 2007) on the way down from our annual tour of east lothian. We played luffness, muirfield and north berwick west and i can only say, eyemouth stood up very well against the quality of tracks just mentioned. a very friendly and welcoming club which we played for just £15!! winter rates. no temporary tees or greens, (greens were hollowtined) and fantastic condition all round. got to be the best ever par 3 i have played, the 6th with a dramatic cliff edge shot, all carry to a tough green, just one of some super holes. very testing in the windy conditions but all in all an excellent point to stop and play 18 either on the way up or down from the east coast of scotland. also great food and great value with a comfortable clubhouse with spectacular panoramic views of the course. we will definately be back

What an excellent course!! This was the final game of golf on our 4 day trip and we couldn't have chosen a better course to play! The clubhouse is brilliant with fantastic views and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was good and reasonably priced and really added to the day. The course itself was in excellent condition and gave a hard but fair challange! The 6th hole has been voted the best golf hole in the county and you can see why when your standing on the tee box! It's also a VERY tough shot and I wouldn't like to play it when there is a strong wind in your face! If your in the area I would highly recommend it - you won't be disappointed! I will definatly be returning in the very near future!

Played on 27 April 06, course was in good condition, clubhouse is magnificent and the views across the course can be seen from every window, has two or three climbs to certain holes but in general ok to walk, the 6th is a daunting shot which i missed and ended up on the beach, this is the uk's most extraordinary hole and i can see why, across a gully cliff to cliff. Some greens were most difficult to putt on purely with the run and angle of some of them so shots in have to be very accurate or you will lose out. All in all a very good course which we will definately play again, the food afterwards was cheap and good and the staff were friendly.
