Hayston Golf Club Player Reports

I've had the opportunity to play this course on 2 ocassions thanks to one of it's members. First impression off the 1st tee, is that this is going to be tight. However, the course opens up and is set out with a degree of challenge. Fairways are top class and greens a real test. The greens committe and green keepers should be commended. One suggestion for the committe, you need to consider the postion of fairway bunkers as technology has taken these out of play.

After a round at Hayston I was amazed at how the holes were varied and how much of a test the course was. Some of the holes are fantastic my favourite being 14th a testing hole over a large gully. I would strongly recomend this course to any golfers out there looking for a great test and variety.

This is a very pleasant Course with only gentle slopes. The first two holes ar long but quite straightforward. The third is reasinable but the fourth over a valley can be rather daunting to the timid player. The fifth is an over the hill hole but the average player cen see the hole for their second shot however care must be taken to play well to the left as the graound slopes away from the green. The sixth is a dogleg left, quite a long hole for a par four. The seventh is again a nice hole with a wide fairway with a slight incline to an upper level just before the green.
