Played hirsel on 28th April, course is a picturesque parkland course with some challenging holes. Greens were not as good as the year prior, but it was April.

Off couse is excellent with some good food.

Worth a visit.

Played Hirsel as the 1st of our courses on this years trip, Set in beautiful parkland, the hirsel is very pleasing to the eye. A lot of different holes some blind shots and a quaint 93 yard par 3 with an elevated tee. A good start to our trip, the only negative was the course coul be a bit too much on older legs!! some climbs in places but all in all would definately visit again

I played the Hirsel 23rd April 2007 and found the course to be both in good condition and an enjoyable one to play. Alot of the holes were memorable and had some beautiful par 3's. The greens were OK but i suppose thats to be expected for the time of year. All the staff were very friendly and the food was really nice. Overall an enjoyable course and a one I would really like to play again.

This course advertises itself as the Augusta of the North. There is nothing that can match Augusta apart from anything there is no course that can match Augusta's budget and the sheer volume of greens staff that work on the course.

It is a pity that they use such over the top advertising because this course is good value. It is a scenic parkland course with the first nine being considerably shorter than the second nine - almost 500 yards. You definitely have to make your score over the fist nine and protect it over the second nine. the 7th was a good par 3 with water in front - make sure you take enough club.

The 4 holes from 12 - 15 are hard to score on and if you come off just over par you have done well.

The general condition of the course was good given heavy rain over the last month although some of the greens were patchy in places.

If you are in the area do have a round over the Hirsel.

It was a pity it was upgraded to 18 holes/ It has not worked but the original 9 are very good. One big snag is that in wet weather the course is closed for lengthy periods. Phone ahead if it has been raining.
