Kinghorn. I played it in 2001 but remember it well. An interesting course designed by Old Tom Morris. Undulating and linksy. The most difficult aspect was trying to decide how far away the greens were from you as they had absolutely no definition behind them for the most part. But the bit I remember most of all was that Old Tom MOrris must have been on crack when he designed the 18th! It is a par 3 and how anyone can score a 3 is beyond me. You tee off from the bottom of a deep sort of ravine, facing you (on a sloping tee or it would be impossible) is a 60 foot scarp with the fairway beyond. To th eright of the fairway - the town. To the left - trouble. I have discussed it with my friends and we are of the same opinion. YU can get a 3 if you can drwa the ball around the scarp, over the town and into the green. Do you have the skill (or guts) to try? You WILL remember this hole, I promise. Had a wonderful meal in the clubhouse over the road (by prior arrangement) and all in all a great game of golf.

I fpund the information about Kinghorn Municipal Golf Course while searching the web for some traces of my ancestors. I find it very pleasant to know that there is a town called Kinghorn and also a golf course. Have always wanted to visit Scotland and play golf on their fine courses, but health reasons deny me that pleasure. I feel now that I have been there. Hope to hear more in the future.
